TL;DR: A new antichrome agent was used on skin ulcers in guinea pigs produced by potassium dichromate and aqueous ascorbic acid solution definitely shortens the time required for healing, even when applied as long as thirty minutes after exposure to the ulcerogenic agent.
Abstract: A new antichrome agent was used on skin ulcers in guinea pigs produced by potassium dichromate. Aqueous ascorbic acid solution (10%) definitely shortens the time required for healing, even when applied as long as thirty minutes after exposure to the ulcerogenic agent. The mode of action and possible significance are discussed.

TL;DR: The PAS reaction in the adrenal medulla of rat, rabbit, hamster, ox, pig and sheep was investigated, and periodate cannot be used to differentiate between adrenaline and noradrenaline storing cells.
Abstract: The PAS reaction in the adrenal medulla of rat, rabbit, hamster, ox, pig and sheep was investigated. The medullary cells were positive in cryostat sections and potassium dichromate fixed material but not in formaldehyde fixed paraffin sections. The latter result is due mostly to the extraction of PAS positive lipids and loss of PAS positive proteins. No glycogen was detected in the chromaffin cells histochemically. The catechol amines played no part in the PAS reaction unless the fixative contained dichromate. The connective tissue elements were also PAS positive, and the nerve fibres in ox, sheep and pig. Periodate cannot be used to differentiate between adrenaline and noradrenaline storing cells.

TL;DR: In this paper, a rapid method for the determination of total sulphur in mineral soils is described, where various sulphur compounds in soil are first oxidised to sulphate by potassium dichromate in phosphoric acid, and the sulphate thus formed is then reduced to sulphur dioxide by heating with activated charcoal.
Abstract: A rapid method for the determination of total sulphur in mineral soils is described. The various sulphur compounds in soil are first oxidised to sulphate by potassium dichromate in phosphoric acid, and the sulphate thus formed is then reduced to sulphur dioxide by heating with activated charcoal. The evolved sulphur dioxide is trapped in hydrogen peroxide, barium perchlorate added to the resulting sulphuric acid to precipitate barium sulphate, and the excess of barium determined by titration against standard potassium sulphate, with sulphonazo III as indicator. The proposed method gave acceptable results when tested on pure compounds and on soils of known sulphur content. No interferences are to be expected from normal soil constituents.
