Abstract: The invention relates to a method for quantitatively increasing or reducing the content of iodine of iodine salt by a process for removing iodine by an iodine removal bag for quantitatively washing iodine salt by water, belonging to the field of home life articles or edible salt. The method is characterized in that the content of iodine of iodine salt can be increased or reduced by the process for removing iodine by the iodine removal bag for quantitatively washing iodine salt by water, for example, 0.5kg of iodine salt with the content of iodine being A is put into the iodine removal bag, 160ml of water is added for washing, all potassium iodate attached to the surface of the iodine salt is dissolved in the water, the total volume of a solution is 180ml, the iodine removal bag is squeezed to separate the salt from the solution, 90ml of solution can be separated out, and at the moment, the content of iodine of the wet salt and the content of iodine of the solution are same and are 0.5 A respectively; iodine is removed again, namely 70ml of water is added into the wet salt, and the content of iodine is reduced to 0.25 A after the wet salt is washed; iodine is increased, namely 45ml of separated solution is added into 0.5kg of iodine salt with the content of iodine being A and is uniformly mixed with the iodine salt to obtain a mixture, and the mixture is dried in the sun till the content of iodine is increased to 1.25 A; likewise, the content of iodine can be increased to 1.5 A again or reduced to obtain iodine-free salt, so that the purpose of automatically increasing or reducing the content of iodine is achieved. Abstract: Potassium iodate reacts withm-aminophenol in presence of sulfuric acid to give pink violet color having 5μg as visual limit of identification. The color reaction is specific form-aminophenol;o-, andp-aminophenol do not interfere if their amount does not exceed 10 and 70% respectively. This provides a new colorimetric method for the determination ofm-aminophenol in small quantities.
