TL;DR: In this article, the effects of nitrogenous (N) fertilisers on the yield of spinach and beetroot were evaluated in the field and in the Pot and Field experiments, and the highest maximum yields were obtained with potassium nitrate fertiliser and the lowest with ammonium sulphate.
Abstract: Pot and field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of nitrogenous (N) fertilisers on the yield of spinach and beetroot. The pot trials involved 2 soils (Wakanui silt loam and Kaiapoi sandy loam), 2 varieties of spinach (Spinacea oleracea L.) 1 variety of beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.), and 5 application rates (0, 150, 300, 450, and 600 kg N/ha) of 6 different nitrogenous fertilisers (potassium nitrate, ammonium sulphate, ammonium sulphate + N-serve, poultry manure, urea, and ammonium sulphate + N-serve + potassium nitrate). The nitrification inhibitor, N-serve, was used to retard the microbial conversion of ammonium fertilisers to the nitrate form. In the field experiment, 1 soil (Wakanui silt loam), 1 spinach variety, and 5 application rates each of potassium nitrate and ammonium sulphate + N-serve were used. Most fertilisers gave maximum yields in pot trials when applied at 300-450 kg N/ha. The highest maximum yields were obtained with potassium nitrate fertiliser and the lowest with...

TL;DR: The diffuse reflectance spectra of alpha-Al(2)O(3)/molten MNO(3) (M=K(+), Li(+)) coexisting systems have been measured for the investigation of the physicochemical properties of molten nitrate at the interface of aluminum oxide to show that the intramolecular bonds of NO(3)(-) are affected.

TL;DR: A rapid and reliable on-line automated system for the determination of the HCl content in concentrated hydrochloric acid production plants by flow injection potentiometry is described in this article.
Abstract: A rapid and reliable on-line automated system for the determination of the HCl content in concentrated hydrochloric acid production plants by flow injection potentiometry is described Samples containing between 9–38% HCl are analyzed by using an automated prevalve dilution technique 30 μl of the diluted samples are injected into a potassium nitrate carrier solution and the sample-buffer zone formed is transported through a home-made coated tubular solid-state chloride-selective electrode as detector The method is suitable for the analysis of hydrochloric acid with a coefficient of variation of better than 06% at a sampling rate of 60 samples/h

TL;DR: In this article, the composition of gaseous fire extinguishing agent consisting of oxidant, fuel, performance additive and adhesive is presented. But the performance additive is aluminum powder, magnesium powder, carbon powder or their mixture, and the adhesive is phenolic resin, shellac, and their mixture.
Abstract: The composition generating gaseous fire extinguishing agent consists of oxidant, fuel, performance additive and adhesive. The oxidant is strontium nitrate or its mixture with one or several of potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate and barium nitrate; the fuel carbamidine nitrate, nitro carbamidine, cane sugar, pentaamino tetrazole or their mixture; the performance additive is aluminum powder, magnesium powder, carbon powder or their mixture; and the adhesive is phenolic resin, shellac or their mixture. The composition is current initiated to produce chemical reaction producing gaseous fire extinguishing agent with high fire extinguishing efficiency, no toxicity to human body and animals, no damage to ozone layer and no secondary damage to communication equipment and other precise instrument.
