TL;DR: The effects of 5 different nitrogenous fertilisers (ammonium sulphate, ammonium sulfate + N-serve, potassium nitrate, poultry manure, and urea) each at 5 application rates (0, 150, 300, 450, or 600 kg N/ha) on the total nitrogen (N) and nitrate content of 2 varieties of spinach (Spinacea oleracea L.) and 1 variety of beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) were evaluated in a pot experiment using Wakanui silt loam soil as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The effects of 5 different nitrogenous fertilisers (ammonium sulphate, ammonium sulphate + N-serve, potassium nitrate, poultry manure, and urea) each at 5 application rates (0, 150, 300, 450, or 600 kg N/ha) on the total nitrogen (N) and nitrate content of 2 varieties of spinach (Spinacea oleracea L.) and 1 variety of beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) were evaluated in a pot experiment using Wakanui silt loam soil. The nitrification inhibitor, N-serve, was used to retard the microbial conversion of ammonium to nitrate. Total N and nitrate N generally increased with increasing rates of N applied. Potassium nitrate application resulted in the highest N uptake levels, and poultry manure application gave the lowest. N-serve depressed N uptake at 600 kg N/ha applied. Plants accumulated nitrate to a level potentially hazardous to health at only the highest rate (600 kg N/ha) of potassium nitrate, ammonium sulphate, and urea applied. Differences between the 2 varieties of spinach tested were not significant.

TL;DR: In this article, a nutritionally-balanced selenium-rich nutrient solution for cultivating chillies is presented. But the solution is not suitable for outdoor gardening, as it requires a large amount of water.
Abstract: The invention provides a nutritionally-balanced selenium-rich nutrient solution for cultivating chillies. The nutrient solution is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 0.002 to 0.008 part of urea, 0.05 to 0.1 part of calcium nitrate, 0.1 to 1 part of potassium nitrate, 0.1 to 1 part of magnesium sulfate, 0.001 to 0.005 part of zinc sulfate, 0.005 to 0.01 part of sodium molybdate, 1 to 3 parts of ammonium phosphate, 0.005 to 0.05 part of ferric chloride, 0.001 to 0.005 part of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.1 to 1 part of potassium iodide, 1 to 5 parts of glucose, 0.1 to 0.5 part of sodium tetraborate, 0.1 to 0.5 part of calcium superphosphate, 0.001 to 0.01 part of copper sulfate, 0.5 to 1 part of organic acid, 0.1 to 1 part of vitamin B, 0.05 to 0.1 part of vitamin C, 0.5 to 5 parts of sodium selenite and 5000 to 7000 parts of water. By reasonably matching the raw materials in a nutrition balancing manner, the growth of the chillies is promoted effectively. Tests prove that the stem height, the survival rate, the yield and the selenium content of the chillies cultivated in the nutrient solution are improved.

TL;DR: In this article, pure and impurity-added MgSO 4 ·7H 2 O single crystals were grown by the free-evaporation method and characterized by density and DC electrical conductivity measurements.
Abstract: Pure and impurity-added (with KCl and KNO 3 ) MgSO 4 ·7H 2 O single crystals were grown by the free-evaporation method and characterized by density and DC electrical conductivity measurements. The present study indicates that the conductivity increases with temperature but does not vary systematically with impurity concentration. Activation energies were also estimated.

TL;DR: In this paper, primary and secondary alkyl nitrates free of nitrites were conveniently prepared by treating the corresponding alcohols with potassium nitrate and boron trifluoride 1.25 hydrate.
Abstract: Primary and secondary alkyl nitrates free of nitrites were conveniently prepared by treating the corresponding alcohols with potassium nitrate and boron trifluoride 1.25 hydrate. This procedure was also successful for the preparation of 1-adamantyl nitrate
