TL;DR: A novel approach to solve the three-phase power flow problem for large-scale distribution systems is introduced, based on the optimal ordering scheme and triangular factorization of Y -bus matrix, which not only takes advantage of the sparsity of system equations but also is insensitive to network topology.

TL;DR: This paper presents a comprehensive set of references on fuzzy set theory applications in power systems and indicates applicability of fuzzy systems to power systems for wider operating conditions under uncertainties.
Abstract: In recent years, fuzzy set theory applications have received increasing attention in various areas of power systems such as operation, planning, and control. A number of research articles appeared which indicate applicability of fuzzy systems to power systems for wider operating conditions under uncertainties. While most of these systems are still under investigation, however, there already exist several practical applications of fuzzy systems. This paper presents a comprehensive set of references on fuzzy set theory applications in power systems.

TL;DR: In this article, a new computational procedure for system planning is presented; this procedure combines and optimizes the formerly separate computations of load flow, reliability analysis, and economic evaluation.
Abstract: Planning the expansion of a high-voltage transmission system involves deciding which new lines will enable the system to satisfy forthcoming loads with the required degree of reliability. Since these decisions involve considerable investment and operating costs, the planner will wish to keep the present worth of all costs as low as possible. The difficulties of the problem come from the tremendous number of possible alternatives, the need to make the best use of information about future loads, and the complexity of the reliability constraints: The outages of some specific combinations of lines (highest capacity lines among them, perhaps) must not at any time overload any other line in the system. A new computational procedure for system planning is presented; this procedure combines and optimizes the formerly separate computations of load flow, reliability analysis, and economic evaluation. This procedure has been applied successfully to a 17-node system studied by the Bonneville Power Administration.

TL;DR: In this paper, a controller monitors the solar array's output power and adjusts the battery charging by generating a current control signal that tracks a peak of the available output power, and sets a current limit such that the combined current draw of the plurality of dc-to-dc converters is substantially equal to the solar arrays's optimum current at which it provides its maximum available power.
Abstract: An electrical power conversion system that supplies the maximum available output power from a power source such as a solar array to a plurality of loads such as rechargeable batteries. The output power of the solar array peaks at an optimum current that is less than is maximum available output current. The system includes a controller and a plurality of dc-to-dc converters that charge the batteries. The controller monitors the solar array's output power and adjusts the battery charging by generating a current control signal that tracks a peak of the solar array's available output power and sets a current limit such that the combined current draw of the plurality of dc-to-dc converters is substantially equal to the solar array's optimum current at which it provides its maximum available power. The electrical power and control signals are transmitted from the power source and controller to the power converters on three bus bars, including a power bus, a control bus, and a common bus. The current control signal and the voltage control signal are multiplexed onto the single control bus. The controller and the dc-to-dc converters are mounted on planar printed circuit boards having clips arranged in a triangular pattern that allow the dc-to-dc converters to be easily attached to and removed from the buses.
