TL;DR: In this article, a gas discharge lamp load is coupled with an EMI and transient supply filter coupled to an input source, a rectifier coupled to the filter, a power inverter coupled to rectifier, a load including a transformer coupled to power inverters, and a control circuit coupled between the transformer and the rectifier.
Abstract: A circuit for driving a gas discharge lamp load and including an EMI and transient supply filter coupled to an input source, a rectifier coupled to the filter, a power inverter coupled to the rectifier, a load including a transformer coupled to the power inverter, and a control circuit coupled to the power inverter and the load. A feedback circuit couples the load transformer to the AC side of the rectifier to create a path for transferring a feedback voltage over the rectifier to cause the rectifier to conduct current over a substantive portion of each cycle of the AC input voltage.

TL;DR: In this paper, a zero-volt switching during a light load is performed in such a manner that through an ON/OFF control of switches provided for a full bridge circuit and the synchronous rectifier switches in a rectifier and smoothing circuit, a resonant peak voltage necessary for the zero voltage switching determined by the output current flowing to output terminals is ensured.
Abstract: Zero volt switching during a light load is performed in such a manner that through an ON/OFF control of switches provided for a full bridge circuit and the synchronous rectifier switches in a rectifier and smoothing circuit, a resonant peak voltage necessary for the zero voltage switching determined by the output current flowing to output terminals, a resonant inductor and a resonant capacitor capacitance is ensured so that an energy accumulated in the rectifier and smoothing circuit is returned to the full bridge circuit so as to act as equivalent as when the output current is increased and to increase the current flowing through the full bridge circuit.

TL;DR: In this article, a wave-shaping network is proposed to provide a power rectifier for connection to an a-c power network which has low ripple at the d-c output, and low harmonic content at the anc side, particularly for feeding a D-c -a-c inverter frequency generator providing output in the audio or low supersonic range for supply of gas discharge or fluorescent lamps.
Abstract: To provide a power rectifier for connection to an a-c power network which has low ripple at the d-c output, and low harmonic content at the a-c side, particularly for feeding a d-c - a-c inverter frequency generator providing output in the audio or low supersonic range for supply of gas discharge or fluorescent lamps, a wave-shaping network is connected to the a-c side of a standard bridge rectifier unit such that the a-c power applied to the rectifier is of approximately trapezoidal or rectangular or square-wave shape; a suitable network is the combination of an inductance (D) and a storage capacitor(C1) in a T-network or in a series resonant circuit, in which the quadrature VA of the choke (D), at network frequency, is about 60% of the power to be supplied by the rectifier, with a capacitor (C1) in a T-network configuration of such value that the resonant frequency of the L/C circuit is about 2.2 to 2.6 times network frequency or equal to network frequency, when in a series resonant circuit. Splitting the inductance (D) into two winding portions, one in each one of the supply lines substantially reduces radio interference from a connected gas discharge lamp.

TL;DR: A novel straightforward absolute value logic SPWM control strategy based on De-Re-coupling idea has been proposed in this paper, which could realize unit power factor and DC voltage output, and made the transformer gain volt-second balance in a high frequency switching cycle.
Abstract: Matrix Rectifier has evolved from the traditional three phase to three phase Matrix Converter (MC) in recent years, and inherits merits of the traditional MC. Matrix Rectifier could be divided into isolated and non-isolated two types according to using high frequency transformer or not. A kind of isolated Matrix Rectifier topology, i.e., high frequency link Matrix Rectifier (HFLMR) has been selected as the study project. Space vector modulation is the mostly focused control strategy for the HFLMR, however its algorithm and its implementation are complicated and difficulty. So a novel straightforward absolute value logic SPWM control strategy based on De-Re-coupling idea has been proposed in this paper, which could realize unit power factor and DC voltage output, and made the transformer gain volt-second balance in a high frequency switching cycle. The validity and feasibility of the proposed control strategy have been well proved by the simulation and experiment results, and a special working phenomenon named as “the dual voltage endemism” has been analyzed in detail.

TL;DR: Here, a three-phase voltage-type PWM rectifier with the function of an active power filter is investigated.
Abstract: In recent years, harmonic pollution in electrical power systems due to nonlinear loads such as AC/DC power converters has become a serious problem. To eliminate or reduce harmonics in power systems, a number of methods have been developed and put into practice. Active power filters and PWM rectifiers are two typical examples of these methods. The active power filter and PWM rectifier have basically the same circuit configuration and can operate based on the same control principle. Therefore, one can design a power converter capable of both the active filter operation and PWM rectifier operation at the same time. Such a converter operates as a PWM rectifier to supply DC power to its own load and, at the same time, operates as an active filter to supply to the AC line a compensating current equal to the harmonic current produced by the nonlinear load connected to the same AC line. Here, a three-phase voltage-type PWM rectifier with the function of an active power filter is investigated.
