TL;DR: In this paper, an improved MPCA approach, step-by-step adaptive MPCA (SAMPCA), using the process variable trajectories to monitoring the batch process is presented.
Abstract: Multi-way principal component analysis (MPCA) had been successfully applied to monitoring the batch and semi-batch process in most chemical industry An improved MPCA approach, step-by-step adaptive MPCA (SAMPCA), using the process variable trajectories to monitoring the batch process is presented in this paper It does not need to estimate or fill in the unknown part of the process variable trajectory deviation from the current time until the end The approach is based on a MPCA method that processes the data in a sequential and adaptive manner The adaptive rate is easily controlled through a forgetting factor that controls the weight of past data in a summation This algorithm is used to evaluate the industrial streptomycin fermentation process data and is compared with the traditional MPCA The results show that the method is more advantageous than MPCA, especially when monitoring multi-stage batch process where the latent vector structure can change at several points during the batch

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for generating a model for modeling at least a portion of the process plant, where process variable data sets, where M is an integer, may be used to determine statistical data that may be utilized to scale process variable sets.
Abstract: In a method for generating a model for modeling at least a portion of the process plant, M process variable data sets, where M is an integer, may be used to determine statistical data that may be utilized to scale process variable data sets. The M process variable data sets are scaled and then utilized to calculate intermediate model terms. For each additional process variable data set, it is scaled using the statistical data and then utilized to update the intermediate model terms. When an adequate number of process variable data sets have been processed, the model may be calculated using the intermediate model terms.

TL;DR: In this paper, a transmitter (300) for measuring a process variable of an industrial process (304) includes a sensor (310) adapted to measure the process variable and to generate a sensor output.
Abstract: A transmitter (300) for measuring a process variable of an industrial process (304) includes a sensor (310) adapted to measure the process variable and to generate a sensor output. A mode selector (316) is adapted to select between operational modes. At least one operational mode is related to an operational range of the sensor (310). Circuitry (312) is adapted to compensate the sensor output according to the at least one operational mode and to generate a transmitter output representative of the measured process variable.

TL;DR: This work deals with the study and design of a wireless sensors network (WSN) architecture to optimize the manufacturing process of Sardinian Carasau bread and a user-friendly interface is provided to enhance the understanding, control and, in particular, to favor the optimization of the process.
Abstract: This work deals with the study and design of a wireless sensors network (WSN) architecture to optimize the manufacturing process of Sardinian Carasau bread. In a scenario of a small-scale bakery industry, a set of process variable to be monitored to optimize the product manufacturing is defined. Then a WSN architecture is studied and set-up to allow for real-time and in situ data collection during both the dough production and the leavening steps. Commercial on-the-shelf and cost-effective integrated electronics is employed. Finally, a user-friendly interface is provided to enhance the understanding, control and, in particular, to favor the optimization of the process.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of loading paths on the hydro-formability of trapezoid-sectional parts are studied and the design principle for loading paths for trapezoids-section parts is put forward.
Abstract: Trapezoid-sectional parts are used in many areas. In the present paper, the hydroforming process of the tube in a trapezoid-sectional die is investigated experimentally. Effects of loading paths on the hydro-formability of trapezoid-sectional parts are studied and the design principle of loading paths for trapezoid-sectional parts is put forward. Through numerical simulations, the effects of die angles and friction coefficients on the hydroforming process and the final parts are explored. The variation regularity of thickness on the unsupported wall along the cross-sections is analyzed and the simulation results show good agreement with the analytical conclusions. The present study provides a knowledge base for hydroforming die and process parameter design and helps to further understand the corner-filling process.
