TL;DR: In this article, an IFC-based data interaction method and a corresponding Web-BIM engineering information integration management system are presented, which comprises a system database, and IFC data interaction module, a GIS integration module, an information query module and a user management module which are respectively in communication with the system database.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an IFC-based data interaction method and a corresponding Web-BIM engineering information integration management system. The data interaction method comprises converting data, structured data or unstructured data, respectively into IFC format data according to a predetermined algorithm, and associating the data with a preset system database. The management system comprises a system database, and an IFC data interaction module, a GIS integration module, an information query module and a user management module which are respectively in communication with the system database. BIM-involved different data formats can be converted into IFC data formats, and the data interaction obstacle caused by unified data formats of BIM type modeling software in the prior art is overcome, thereby facilitating implementation of integration management of BIM project engineering data information.

TL;DR: The model proposes individual's prior experience, learning orientation and perception of partner's support as antecedents of local personnel absorptive capacity of joint project engineering teams in the Nigerian upstream oil industry.
Abstract: This study investigates the significance of individual differences on the local personnel capability to acquire knowledge from joint project engineering teams The model proposes individual's prior experience, learning orientation and perception of partner's support as antecedents of local personnel absorptive capacity The hypothesized model was validated through the outcome of the structural equation modelling conducted on a cross sectional survey of 248 local personnel of joint project engineering teams in the Nigerian upstream oil industry All the hypothesized relationships were supported, with the exception of that between learning orientation and ability to assimilate knowledge Accordingly, the theoretical and practical implications of the findings were explained, with suggestions offered on the direction for future research

TL;DR: A first solution and simple working prototypes of a Global Communication Infrastructure (GCI) were developed and validated based on interviews with six representatives from different industries and the current state of the art regarding knowledge sharing in the different industries were addressed.
Abstract: In order to increase functionality and process performance, today’s and future products need a high degree of tailoring to customer needs. Key drivers are Industry 4.0 and individualized end-customer production capabilities up to lot size one where each product can be easily produced in small amounts and customized. This has to be accomplished under the guardrails of decreasing time-to-market and increasing quality-to-market. Additionally, within large engineering enterprises, the project engineering know-how and the capacities are distributed all over the globe. To fulfill customer requirements, the product knowledge has to be available everywhere at any time. Standardizing custom projects and high-level project configuration guidance via project profile matching are a promising step towards global engineering solutions. This paper will show and describe a first solution and simple working prototypes of a Global Communication Infrastructure (GCI) that were developed and validated based on interviews with six representatives from different industries. Here, the current state of the art regarding knowledge sharing in the different industries as well as the envisioned advantages and potential of the GCI were addressed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show the intellectual connection between Friedmann, Angel Ramos and Ignacio Trueba, two of the Spanish intellectual drivers in the engineering project knowledge area, who contributed to the foundation of the Project Engineering Spanish Association.
Abstract: It is impossible to talk about planning as a scientific meta-discipline without mentioning one of the most influential worldwide figures in the second half of the twentieth century: John Friedmann. His contribution to the planning concept on his Planning as Social Learning theory is still very relevant. This paper shows the intellectual connection between Friedmann, Angel Ramos and Ignacio Trueba, two of the Spanish intellectual drivers in the engineering project knowledge area, who contributed to the foundation of the Project Engineering Spanish Association. The three of them share a broad vision of the project and abandon the “blue print” planning model. They also see the project as a transformational tool that requires a different planning style to the one which prevailed in the 70s—both in public and private domains. They were pioneers in structuring Knowledge/Action in a different way, both in academic institutions where disciples helped to bring about change—and with direct action via projects.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper explored the general con- tract of construction project engineering demonstration text (try out) to explore the applicability in China, the international engineering general contracting a comparison of several common con-tracts.
Abstract: EPC is a new mode of project construction, has become the development trend of engi- neering construction market. Engineering general contracting mode development relatively late in our country, in 2011 to develop a corresponding contract model of the construction project engi- neering general contract demonstration text (try out) ". In this paper, the international engineering general contracting a comparison of several common con-tracts, aims to explore the general con- tract of construction project engineering demonstration text (try out) "the applicability in China.

TL;DR: General prerequisites for an implementation of a service-oriented architecture in a module-based test field are shown and include among other things the identification, classification and synchronization of possible services.
Abstract: In addition to the already required functionality, future production systems should consider the requirements of flexible and demand-oriented resource utilization. Those are not only related on fields of energy, but also material-efficient and time-efficient use of available means of production. Modular system architectures and modular solutions facilitate the planning and implementation of these requirements. Using service-oriented architectures in automation allow an approach for new or modified system components that can be integrated in the available plant environment without a high additional investment of project engineering. This aspect is interesting for companies with manageable machinery, which are able to react immediately and flexible to changes. Service-oriented solutions include among other things the identification, classification and synchronization of possible services. The paper will show general prerequisites for an implementation of a service-oriented architecture in a module-based test field.
