TL;DR: In the Synthesis Coalition, every funded project leader was invited to submit a brief statement-of-work indicating the assessment method of choice and the manner in which the method will be applied: e.g., the curriculum, the students to be observed, when and where in the evolution of a student's curriculum experience they will be observed; what are the expected outcomes of the assessment; how will outcomes be fed back into the curriculum; why is that specific methodology right for this project, etc as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: This report is based heavily on the 1993 Strategic Plan and assessment implementation guidelines of the Synthesis Coalition. Every funded project leader in the Coalition was invited to submit a brief statement-of-work indicating the assessment method of choice and the manner in which the method will be applied: e.g., the curriculum, the students to be observed, when and where in the evolution of a student's curriculum experience they will be observed; what are the expected outcomes of the assessment; how will outcomes be fed back into the curriculum; why is that specific methodology right for this project, etc. Supplemental assessment awards will be made on a merit basis. Merit is determined by a peer review process, akin to that used for external project implementation proposal review. >

TL;DR: An outline of the demonstration project of Comprehensive Transportation Information Platform, the most essential part of ITS implementation of Beijing, is given.
Abstract: This paper gives an outline of the demonstration project. The background, objectives, user services, system functions and stage achievements are presented. Comprehensive Transportation Information Platform is the most essential part of ITS implementation of Beijing. Although only elementary frame will be set up at the end of 2004, long-term plan is very important. After the demonstration project accomplished, it should provide useful experience for the implementation of CTIP in other cities.

TL;DR: The computer vision courses at Ball State University has been reconstructed so that it provides the basis for a semester-long project - a project analyzed, designed, and programmed using an object-oriented (O-O) approach.
Abstract: The computer vision courses at Ball State University has been reconstructed so that it provides the basis for a semester-long project - a project analyzed, designed, and programmed using an object-oriented (O-O) approach. One of the original goals of the course remains intact, namely, to instruct the students in the basic principles of computer vision. However, those principles are now more tightly focused so that they relate very directly to the semester-long project. An added goal is to teach O-O analysis, design, and programming at a relatively in-depth level to the students and to do this within the framework of computer vision. Another goal is to enable the students to gain some degree of expertise in an O-O language. >

TL;DR: Applying computer technology to the actual management of construction projects can realize the collection, processing and analysis of various data and information about project management, and make rational and effective use of resources.
Abstract: In the practical application of computer technology in current project management, there are several shortcomings. For example, a certain gap exists between computer hardware equipment and market demand; the quality of engineering project management software varies; engineering project management personnel have different computer application capabilities. Applying computer technology to the actual management of construction projects can realize the collection, processing and analysis of various data and information about project management, and make rational and effective use of resources. The informatized project management work coordinates with work of other groups, which drives the production efficiency of the engineering project. In the actual management process of engineering projects, computing application technology plays a decisive role.

TL;DR: In this article, independent systems for measuring project progress and resource performance were used in aiding both the client and contractors in planning work force size and scheduling to reduce cost and improve both efficiency and effectiveness.
Abstract: The authors relate how independent systems for measuring project progress and resource performance were used in aiding both the client and contractors in planning work force size and scheduling to reduce cost and improve both efficiency and effectiveness. Goaded by comments from the prime contractor, the consultants set about the determine if they could combine the independent systems. To the surprise of everyone, the consultants were able to independently forecast job progress using only the results from the performance measurement system. A math model was developed and statistical analysis was used to validate the results. >
