TL;DR: In this paper, the characteristics of the construction management and how to manage a construction project with the project management techniques are described and described in terms of characteristics and characteristics of each project.
Abstract: Project management techniques can be adopted for any project, but the way of application of the project management techniques varies from project to project, depending on different characteristics of each project. Construction management is widely employed in the civil construction sector and it has its own characteristics which should be considered when the project management techniques are adopted. This paper states and describes the characteristics of the construction management and tells how to manage a construction project with the project management techniques.

TL;DR: The Helms Project has been in operation since 1984 and represents the state-of-the-art in pumped storage technology in terms of operating heads and unit capacity as discussed by the authors, and a description is given of design features, startup experiences, corrective work, and project performance to date.
Abstract: The Helms Project has been in operation since 1984 and represents the state of the art in pumped storage technology in terms of operating heads and unit capacity. A description is given of design features, startup experiences, corrective work, and project performance to date. The following are covered: mechanical features, electrical features, generators and motors, pump mode operation, transformers, control, protection, station service, powerhouse cranes, rotor dynamics, field pole bucking, thrust bearing, and cold loading. >

TL;DR: The function of the system, the system block diagram, key indicators of the mathematical model; and the process diagram and system structure of project appraisal are expounded.
Abstract: The engineering project risk assessment information system provides a more scientific and practical supports for the project appraisal. This paper expounds the function of the system, the system block diagram, key indicators of the mathematical model; and expatiates on the process diagram and system structure of project appraisal.

TL;DR: In this article, Monte Carlo simulation is used for project management and planning, in which the uncertainty is tackled in order to obtain an overview of the project and its environment, which results in saving costs, time and effort in planning and control.
Abstract: Projects in their early design include many uncertainties. They are not properly specified, their scope is not fully defined and they involve a lot of uncertainties in quantities, time durations, costs and activities. Rigid figures like CPM and other deterministic methods do not permit to make good uncertainty management, which at the end brings along a lot of mistakes and waste of limited resources. Conventional projects management has tried to give both a solution and an approximation to the problem with different tools like PERT, in order to avoid problems of conventional figures. However, some of these methods are insufficient to model variables and process behavior, which represents a lack of crucial information to make good forecasts. Monte Carlo simulation avoids many of these inconveniences. Using the probabilistic distributions of both internal and external variables and processes, Monte Carlo simulation can model their behavior, thus showing activities and different project scenarios. This paper describes an ongoing research effort to develop a methodology as a tool for project management and planning, in which the uncertainty is tackled in order to obtain an overview of the project and its environment, which results in saving costs, time and effort in planning and control.
