TL;DR: In this paper, an electrical voltage impinging device was used to strike a live target using a projectile launched toward the target from a distance, employing a projectile having two connecters, one extending from the projectile in fixed relation to the target and the other being launched from the target at or near the target to assure proper spacing between the connecters irrespective of the distance to target.
Abstract: An immobilization weapon of the type which imparts an electrical voltage across a live target using a projectile launched toward the target from a distance, employs a projectile having two connecters. One such connecter extends from the projectile in fixed relation thereto. The other such connecter is launched from the projectile at or near the target to assure proper spacing between the connecters irrespective of the distance to the target. In the preferred embodiment, the secondarily launched connecter is actuated by current through the target when the projectile is in proximity to the impact surface of the target.

TL;DR: In this article, a mathematical model is developed and methods of analysis are formulated for determining the structural response of textile fabric flat panels subjected to ballistic impact by a dense projectile, which is suitable for either desk calculator use or for a digital computer in calculating strains, projectile position, forces, and decelerations as functions of time.
Abstract: A mathematical model is developed and methods of analysis are formulated for determining the structural response of textile fabric flat panels subjected to ballistic impact by a dense projectile. A stepwise procedure in time is formulated which is suitable for either desk calculator use or for a digital computer in calculating strains, projectile position, forces, and decelerations as functions of time. Analytical results are compared with experimental data for impact of a .22 caliber fragment simulator impacting 1 ply and 12 ply nylon cloth as well as Kevlar (PRD)-49-IV cloth from 1–24 plies.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the ballistic response of laminated composite plates using numerical simulations and found that these plates were impacted at velocities between 100 and 1000 m/s.
Abstract: This study investigates the ballistic response of laminated composite plates using numerical simulations. Numerical simulations were carried out to determine the ballistic response of thick Kevlar/epoxy composite plates, commonly used in body armor. These plates were impacted at velocities between 100 and 1000 m/s. The numerical parametric study of ballistic impact caused by cylindrical projectile is undertaken to obtain an estimate for the ballistic limit velocity, energy absorbed by the plate, and the contact duration. The effect of mass and diameter of the projectile on ballistic limit velocity was also studied. The results obtained hereby are in good agreement with the experimental data presented by other researchers.
