Abstract: A procedure is presented for the control of a dual-spin spacecraft consisting of a spinning rigid rotor and a flexible despun section. Such a system exhibits gyroscopic effects. The system equations of motion are uncoupled by using gyroscopic modal analysis and the active control of the spacecraft is accomplished by synthesizing the control on the independent spacecraft modes. A deterministic (Luenberger-type) observer is designed by using decoupled dynamics and inserted in the control loop, where the control operates on an on-off scheme. Proportional control representing classical linear feedback approach is also discussed. Finally, the relation between spatially distributed actuators and modal control is discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a time proportional control means, shown as a temperature control system, utilizes an expanded time constant arrangement with a unidirectional type of digital counter, which is linked to the set point control for the system.
Abstract: OF THE DISCLOSURE A time proportional control means, shown as a temperature control system, utilizes an expanded time constant arrangement with a unidirectional type of digital counter. The control system also utilizes a pulse gener-ating means that is linked to the set point control for the system. Any substantial change of the set point causes the pulse generating means to generate pulses that are used by a pulse responsive circuit to insure that the counter for the system is adjusted to cause the output of the system to correspond with the new set point position.

TL;DR: In this paper, the system to control the thickness of the fabric produced by a circular knitter has an analogue control to adjust the axial positioning of the needle cylinder, which is formed by a proportional controller with >= 2 inputs to provide data through an analogue position indicator for the needle cylinders and a digital/analogue converter.
Abstract: The system to control the thickness of the fabric produced by a circular knitter has an analogue control to adjust the axial positioning of the needle cylinder. This is formed by a proportional controller with >=2 inputs to provide data through an analogue position indicator for the needle cylinder and a digital/analogue converter. A digital control computer provides the input for the converter through a store. The proportional controller is connected through a store. The proportional controller is connected to the input of a power amplifier, with its output voltage linked through a kinematic chain to a servo-motor connected to the needle cylinder. The use of analogue switching circuits gives a simpler mechanism than a digital switching circuit system, so that a simple position indicator can be used, such as a potentiometer without requiring any additional logic circuits.

TL;DR: In this article, a two-stage proportional control of the gas flow rate in a gas combusting apparatus in use of a proportional control valve was proposed to lower the level of explosion caused when a burner is ignited.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To lower the level of explosion caused when a burner is ignited and to accomplish two-stage proportional control of the gas flow rate in a gas combusting apparatus in use of a proportional control valve, by connecting a solenoid valve in parallel to the proportional control valve, and using the same for the purpose of slow ignition and for switching the capacity of the combusting apparatus CONSTITUTION: Gas is supplied from a gas pipe 6 to a gas burner 4 via the first solenoid valve 7, governor 8, proportional control valve 9, and the second solenoid valve 10 connected in parallel to the valve 9 Here, the temperature of hot water to be supplied is kept at a setting value through controlling of gas flow rate, by detecting the temperature of load (temperature of hot water to be supplied) by a temperature-sensitive element 13 disposed at the outlet of a heat exchanger 1 for a feed water pipe 2 and transmitting a signal corresponding to the quantity of required heat to the proportional vlave 9 via a controller 14 having a comparing amplifier In case of ignition, for instance, when the load is low, slow ignition can be accomplished by operating solenoid valve 10 by an ignition signal, supplying through an orifice 11 such an amount of gas capable of causing ignition, and operating proportional control valve 9 after passing of a predetermined time period COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio

TL;DR: In this article, a voltage regulator is operated in a proportional control system until the preset time elapses after an inverter starts and in proportional and integrated control systems after the time elapse.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To operate a voltage regulator in a proportional control system until the preset time elapses after an inverter starts and in proportional and integrated system after the time elapses. CONSTITUTION:A transistor 34 is ON until the time prest by a time limiter 37 after an inverter 3 starts by depressing a switch 38. Accordingly, an integrated capacitor 31 is shortcircuited and a voltage regulator 9' operates as a proportional control system regulator. After the preset time by the time limiter 37 elapses, the transistor 37 goes off. After the time preset by the time limiter 37 elapses, the transistor 37 goes OFF. Accordingly, the regulator operates as a proportional and integrated control systme regulator. This enbles a stable start.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to lessen the off-gauge portion of the rolled material without promoting the under- gauge portion by detecting the timing of transference of the thickness deviation from zero to minus, and then switching the control from the proportional control to the integral control.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To lessen the off-gauge portion of the rolled material without promoting the under- gauge portion, by detecting the timing of transference of the thickness deviation from zero to minus, and then, by switching the control from the proportional control to the integral control. CONSTITUTION:The period, from the starting point of the rolling work to the point that the thickness deviation on the exit side of the second stand 2 becomes zero or minus, is detected by the start of rolling detecting circuit 36; and the automatic sheet-metal gauge control is carried out according to the proportional control depending on the action of the circuit of the proportioner 32. By this proportional control, the reference speed DELTAV2REF is delivered on purpose to control the roll speed of the second stand 2 correspondingly to the thickness deviation DELTAh so as to make zero this thickness deviation DELTAh. When the thickness deviation approaches to zero with the acceleration of the roll speed, the reference speed DELTAV2REF due to the proportional control also approaches to zero; and when the thickness deviation becomes zero, the relay RY of the start of rolling detecting circuit 36 is put off, and the automatic control for sheet-metal gauge is carried out through the integrator 22.
