TL;DR: In this paper, a proportional electronic fuel control is proposed to control the feed flow of fuel to the reformer of a fuel cell system in response to fuel cell current, reformer temperature and the position of the fuel flow control valve.
Abstract: A proportional electronic fuel control controls the feed flow of fuel to the reformer of a fuel cell system in response to fuel cell current, reformer temperature and the position of the fuel flow control valve. The electronic control produces a proportional control signal which actuate solenoids in a digital manner to regulate the position of the fuel flow control valve. A deadband is provided in the electronic control to prevent continuous cycling of the control valve.

17 Dec 2018TL;DR: In this article, a continuous-time state feedback control strategy is proposed to stabilize an eigenstate of the Hermitian measurement operator of a two-level quantum system, which leads to a global exponential convergence property with a strict Lyapunov function.
Abstract: This article provides a novel continuous-time state feedback control strategy to stabilize an eigenstate of the Hermitian measurement operator of a two-level quantum system. In open loop, such system converges stochastically to one of the eigenstates of the measurement operator. Previous work has proposed state feedback that destabilizes the undesired eigenstates and relies on a probabilistic analysis to prove convergence. In contrast, we here associate the state observer to an adaptive version of so-called Markovian feedback (essentially, proportional control) and we show that this leads to a global exponential convergence property with a strict Lyapunov function. Furthermore, besides the instantaneous measurement output, our controller only depends on the single coordinate along the measurement axis, which opens the way to replacing the full state observer by lower-complexity filters in the future.

11 Apr 1988TL;DR: In this article, a proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) controller was proposed for the excitation control of a synchronous generator using the generator frequency and voltage deviations.
Abstract: The excitation control of a synchronous generator using proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) control is considered. The proposed PID power system stabilizer uses the generator frequency and voltage deviations to provide a supplementary signal for the excitation control. The gains of the PIC controller are calculated for complete pole placement. Digital simulation of synchronous machine subject to a disturbance is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. It is found that the proposed PID stabilizer outperforms the traditional power system stabilizer currently used by most power plants. >

01 Sep 1998TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical procedure of speed control system optimization for electric drives with elastic coupling is presented, with the aid of the damping optimum for four state controller types of different order, assuming a wide range of variation of characteristic process parameters ratios.
Abstract: Analytical procedure of speed control system optimization for electric drives with elastic coupling is presented. The optimization and comparative analysis of the control system are provided with the aid of the damping optimum for four state controller types of different order, assuming a wide range of variation of characteristic process parameters ratios. The behaviour of the optimized system with respect to the reference value and disturbance has been examined by computer simulation and experimentally.
