TL;DR: In this paper, a local proxy at the user station which interacts with a remote proxy is proposed to increase the apparent speed of a connection between a browser at a user station and a proxy or gateway on a network such as the Internet.
Abstract: The apparent speed of a connection between a browser at a user station and a proxy or gateway on a network such as the Internet is increased by providing a local proxy at the user station which interacts with a remote proxy. While the remote proxy is retrieving a newly requested World Wide Web page, for example, from the appropriate content provider, it may also be sending to the local proxy a stale cached version of that page. When the new version of the page is finally retrieved, the remote proxy determines the differences between the new version and the stale version, and, assuming the differences do not exceed the new page in size, sends the differences to the local proxy which then reconstructs the new page from the differences and the stale version. The local proxy delivers the new page to the browser, which need not even be aware that a local proxy exists; it is aware only that it received the page it requested. Because computational speed and power are frequently higher and cheaper than transmission speed, the apparent speed of the connection between the user station and the network has been increased at modest cost.

TL;DR: In this paper, Magdiosman et al. proposed a ground truth based evaluation framework for explainable AI (XAI) methods based on the CLEVR visual question answering task, which provides a selective, controlled and realistic testbed for the evaluation of neural network explanations.

TL;DR: With satisfying the security properties of both two signatures, a new proxy blind signature scheme based on discrete logarithm problem is proposed.
Abstract: A proxy signature scheme allows an original signer to delegate his signing capability to a proxy signer who can sign on behalf of the original signer. A blind signature is the concept with a salient feature that the signer can not make a linkage between the blind signature and the identity of the requester. Proxy signature and blind signature are used widely in electronic commerce. With satisfying the security properties of both two signatures, a new proxy blind signature scheme based on discrete logarithm problem is proposed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined whether low access to banks is perceived as problematic when obtaining financial capital for innovation activities and found that both a longer distance to the nearest bank and fewer banks in the vicinity are related to experiencing greater difficulties in obtaining external financial capital.
Abstract: We examine whether low access to banks is perceived as problematic when obtaining financial capital for innovation activities. Data on innovation obstacles from the Swedish Community Innovation Survey are combined with geo-coded data at the firm level, which allows us to proxy access to external capital by the Euclidian distance from each firm to its nearest bank and the supply within a radius of 5 km. The results indicate that both a longer distance to the nearest bank and fewer banks in the vicinity are related to experiencing greater difficulties in obtaining external financial capital for innovations.
