TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative survey of attendees to the Mandela 100: Global Citizen Festival in South Africa in 2018 revealed that an AID-typology applies to benefit concert attendees: advocates, inspirers and discoverers.
Abstract: This exploratory study aims to show that events can create awareness and facilitate behavioural change among attendees. Festivals and events can use the United Nations sustainable development goals as drivers of societal change and business growth. Unfortunately, the attendees to a benefit concert have not been investigated to date. This study fills this gap by segmenting attendees to a benefit concert aimed at eradicating poverty.,A quantitative destination-based survey was undertaken at the Mandela 100: Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2018. A simple random sampling method was used within a stratified sampling method, and 408 questionnaires were obtained.,Three psychographic segmentation variables were used: motives for attending the event (novelty, escape and socialization and cause advocating); behavioural intentions and change as a result of attending the event (cognition and awareness, loyalty-related behaviour, active engagement and travel-related behaviour); and global causes aimed at eradicating poverty that attendees regard as important to support (social, sustainability, fiscal, fundamental and elevated prosperity). The results revealed three distinct segments, proposing that an AID-typology applies to benefit concert attendees: advocates, inspirers and discoverers. Each group has either a high, moderate or low level of commitment towards the festival’s and other global causes.,Practical implications are suggested as guidelines to encourage advocacy and active involvement for global causes.,This study was conducted from a developing country’s perspective and contextualizes the role that events can play in advocating for specific causes and encouraging citizens to get involved.

TL;DR: In this article, a social networking system is used to assimilate a database of SNS member profiles and associated brand websites on a server connected by a data communications network to a plurality of remote computers.
Abstract: A social networking system electronically assimilates a database of social networking system (SNS) member profiles and associated brand websites on a server connected by a data communications network to a plurality of remote computers. The system utilizes a respective psychographic profile to establish a lifestyle center website on the social networking system server, and the lifestyle center website includes a first set of digital content data related to the psychographic profile. The lifestyle center website displays an anchor tenant website hosted on the SNS server and having a second set of digital content data related to the psychographic profile. The system further identifies social networking system member profiles that match the identified psychographic profile for the lifestyle center website. The system allows SNS members and brand owners to connect within the social networking system for a more efficient online shopping experience.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors cluster Malaysian travelers into several groups along the psychographic line based on results of a survey funded by the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), from the Ministry of Education.
Abstract: After years focusing on international markets, stakeholders in Malaysian tourism sector now realize that in order to sustain the sector, domestic fundamentals must be strong and local travels must be encouraged. Various international crises like the Tsunami, the terrorist attacks, the spread of diseases have shifted the trend, now domestic tourism is becoming the main focus of attention and Malaysians are now encouraged to take holidays and spend longer at home destinations. While analyzing the trends in domestic travelers, this paper clusters Malaysian travelers into several groups along the psychographic line. It is based on results of a survey funded by the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), from the Ministry of Education. The analysis shows that there are three prominent types of tourists among Malaysian domestic travelers, expecting different products and traveling differently. This paper calls for better understanding towards promoting better strategies to prepare better products that suit the demands and their behaviors.
