TL;DR: A leg stretcher used to stretch a user's hamstring muscles when the user is lying in a supine position is described in this article, where a conventional pulley suspended from any convenient support at a position above the user's head.
Abstract: A leg stretcher used to stretch a user's hamstring muscles when the user is lying in a supine position. The leg stretcher including a conventional pulley suspended from any convenient support at a position above the user's head. A rope is threaded through the pulley, and at one end thereof has an adjustable stirrup to be placed around the user's ankle. The stirrup is adjustable in size to accommodate a particular user's ankle. The opposite end of the rope is then threaded through a cord lock and a handle bar with the cord lock fixedly attached to the handle bar. This end of the rope is then secured to an adjustment handle which is used to adjust the length of the rope and also prevents the rope from slipping through the handle bar.

TL;DR: In this article, a portable testing device is designed to provide slope compensated static and dynamic drag factors, where a test material is mounted on a dragging block which is then placed on the test surface.
Abstract: A portable testing device designed to provide slope compensated static and dynamic drag factors. A test material is mounted on a dragging block which is then placed on the test surface. A cable is attached to the dragging block, passed through a foot held pulley device and attached to a rod which protrudes out of an electronics box. The user pulls on the cable while holding onto handgrips attached to the electronics box. This causes the dragging block to be pulled across the test surface. The strain caused by the forces created by the friction between the test surface and the test material is measured using a strain gauge. This strain is used, along with the weight of the dragging block, to determine the slope compensated drag factors.

TL;DR: In this article, a frictional force between the face and the belt is increased, so that a higher torque than the drag torque can be transmitted to the one-way clutch without causing a slippage of the belt.
Abstract: Irregularities on the face of the pulley groove of the pulley for driving the rotor shaft of the generator through the one-way clutch are positively extended and a frictional force between the face and the belt is increased, so that a higher torque than the drag torque can be transmitted to the one-way clutch without causing a slippage of the belt Since no slippage occurs on the belt, the belt life can be extended Since the one way clutch is positively operated, the inertial energy of the rotor can be effectively recovered

TL;DR: In this article, a system for training athletes consisting of a drive unit and an output unit, a rope spool disposed on the output unit and a rope disposing on the spool is described.
Abstract: A system for training athletes comprises a drive unit and an output unit, a rope spool disposed on the output unit, and a rope disposed on the rope spool. The drive unit comprises a motor shaft, a pulley, a clutch, the clutch being operatively coupled to the motor shaft and pulley. The output unit includes a one-way bearing, a brake, a brake controller, and a pulley, which output shaft pulley may be coupled to the drive shaft pulley. The rope applies a force on an object to which it is attached when the drive unit and/or output unit cause the rope spool to wind or unwind the rope, and the force exerted by the rope may be regulated by the clutch of the drive unit and may be one of an overspeed mode, a constant resistance, an increasing resistance, a decreasing resistance, a constant force, and a varying force.

TL;DR: In this article, a multiplicity of relatively narrow, transversely extending traction pads are pre-formed to mate with the arcuate pulley face, and applied edge to edge in a circumferential array and number to substantially fully embrace the face of the pulley.
Abstract: Replaceable pulley lagging--for an initially smooth-faced, endless conveyor or elevator belt drive pulley--comprising a multiplicity of relatively narrow, transversely extending traction pads pre-formed to mate with the arcuate pulley face, and applied edge to edge in a circumferential array and number to substantially fully embrace the face of the pulley; the traction pads being secured to the face of the pulley in detachable relation whereby to permit removal and replacement of said pads when worn or damaged.
