TL;DR: A wheelchair has a seat portion and a pair of stationary mounting plates fixed to two sides of the seat portion, each of the mounting plates has a driven pulley rotatably mounted thereon and a driving unit with a driving pulley.
Abstract: A wheelchair has a seat portion and a pair of stationary mounting plates fixed to two sides of the seat portion. Each of the mounting plates has a driven pulley rotatably mounted thereon and a driving unit with a driving pulley. An endless belt interconnects the driving and driven pulleys together. A clutch assembly is mounted on the mounting plate and is associated with the driving unit to engage and disengage the driving unit from a pair of wheels that are attached to the stationary mounting plates.

TL;DR: In this article, a belt drive system in a washing machine for bidirectional operation in selection of agitation and spin cycles is presented. But the authors do not consider the effect of belt slippage on the pulley rim from the motor shaft.
Abstract: A belt drive system in a washing machine for bidirectional operation in selection of agitation and spin cycles and having a belt and pulley arrangement adapted to transmit full motor torque in the agitation direction and substantially limited torque through belt slippage in the spin direction whereby final spin speed is reduced in proportion to out-of-balance conditions existing in the spin tub. A motor drive pulley having heat barrier means is provided to isolate friction heat generated by belt slippage on the pulley rim from the motor shaft and to prevent damage to elements in engagement with the shaft. A method of calibrating a belt tensioning spring is also disclosed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a tensioner for an endless belt comprising a stationary structure on which a pivotal tension arm with an idler pulley is mounted is described, where a spring between the tension arm and the stationary structure acts to bias the pulley against the belt, thereby applying tension.
Abstract: A tensioner for an endless belt comprising a stationary structure on which a pivotal tension arm with an idler pulley is mounted. A spring between the tension arm and the stationary structure acts to bias the pulley against the belt, thereby applying tension. The invention includes a one-way device that is operable in response to the extent of pivotal movement of the tension arm in the forward direction to establish different positions at which pivotal movement in the return direction is limited. A damping system is used to restrict pivotal movement of the tension arm as a result of sudden short-time vibratory movements or dynamic vibrations in cold conditions.

TL;DR: In this article, a walking-aid robot with a seat is described, which consists of a stand, an elevating mechanism, a transmission mechanism, and a walking drive mechanism.
Abstract: The invention relates to a walking-aid robot with a seat, belonging to the technical field of mechanical engineering. The walking-aid robot with the seat comprises a walking-aid stand, an elevating mechanism, a transmission mechanism and a walking drive mechanism, wherein the elevating mechanism and the transmission mechanism are respectively fixed on the stand; and the walking drive mechanism isfixed at the lower end of the walking-aid stand. The walking drive mechanism comprises back supporting legs, a walking drive motor, a first bevel gear, a second bevel gear, a first synchronous pulley, synchronous belts, a second synchronous pulley, a bearing seat, a gear box, steering wheels and driving wheels. The invention has compact structure, high driving efficiency and convenient use.
