TL;DR: In this paper, at the time of drilling an oil well at sea, the depth of the hole, the position of the tool and its advancing speed were calculated according to the measurements of the paying out of the active end of the cable passing through a block supporting a combination of rods.
Abstract: Device making it possible to know, at the time of boring an oil well at sea, the depth of the hole, the position of the tool and its advancing speed; these characteristics are calculated according to the measurements of the paying out of the active end of the cable passing through a block supporting a combination of rods, of the weight at the hook of the combination of rods, of the movement in relation to the structure of the boring tower, of the axis of the upper pulley of the block and of the paying out of the support cables of a tubular part connecting the head of the well to the bottom of the water or craft.

TL;DR: In this paper, a pad-type roller massager with a sliding block and a worm gear motor is presented. But the massager does not have a rollers assembly, and the sliding block is fixed to the belt of the belt.
Abstract: A pad type roller massager comprising an upper supporting bracket and a lower supporting brackets, an upper bracket cover and a lower bracket cover, a driving mechanism, a guiding column A, a sliding block, an eccentric motor, a positioning cover for motor, a position controller, a plurality of screws S, and a rollers assembly is provided. The upper and lower supporting brackets are connected by those pair of guiding column which are parallel with each other. A sliding block is moveably attached to the guiding columns and may move upward and downward along the guiding columns. The upper supporting bracket is enclosed with an upper bracket cover and the upper supporting bracket is rotationally disposed with a pulley therein. The lower supporting bracket is also enclosed with a lower bracket cover and the lower supporting bracket is disposed with a worm gear motor which in turn meshed with a worm gear having a pulley formed thereof. A belt is guided via the pulley and the worm gear having pulley. The free end of the belt are fixedly attached to the sliding block. Consequently, when the worm gear motor is rotated, the belt as well as the sliding block is moved upward and downward. The sliding block is further provided with a position controller which can reverse the rotating direction of the worm gear motor when the controller reach to the upper or lower supporting brackets. A plurality of rollers assemblies are carried by the sliding block and which may exert a massaging movement to the muscle when the rollers assemblies are moved along the guiding columns. The sliding block is further provided with an eccentric motor which provides vibration to the sliding block. As a result, the massager is featured with a three dimensional massaging movement.

TL;DR: In this article, a variable speed drive system for use with a self-propelled device is coupled by a belt to an engine which is mounted to the device, and a speed control lever and a control cable assembly are included for limiting the amount of movement of the drive system about the drive shaft.
Abstract: A variable speed drive system for use with a self-propelled device is coupled by a belt to an engine which is mounted to the device. The variable speed drive system includes a variable pitch pulley held in spaced-apart relation to the drive shaft by a fixture and rotates about the drive shaft between a first position proximal to the engine and a second position distal to the engine. In the first position, the drive system is disengaged from the engine and the speed of the self-propelled device is zero, the belt being slack and providing no drive force to the drive system. In the second position, the drive system is moved a maximum amount about the drive shaft and is positioned to achieve a maximum speed. The drive system can also assume any intermediate position between the first and second positions, with the speed of the self-propelled device being determined by the amount of movement about the drive shaft toward the second position. A speed control lever and a control cable assembly are included for limiting the amount of movement of the drive system about the drive shaft to control the speed of the self-propelled device

TL;DR: A document separation device for separating documents in a stack employs counter-rotating drum and friction belt members to strip away and hold back more than a single document trying to pass between them as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A document separation device for separating documents in a stack employs counter-rotating drum and friction belt members to strip away and hold back more than a single document trying to pass between them. The structure employs a pair of friction drums and a free-wheeling pulley between them of slightly smaller diameter but on the same axis. Counter-rotating friction stripper belt is supported between two pulleys one of which is driven and is wrapped over the pulley between the friction drum members. A third rotatable pulley between the two supporting the friction belt is located opposite the free-wheeling pulley and has flanges which bear upon the friction drum surfaces such that the friction belt will normally not contact the third pulley when the friction belt is in direct contact with the idler between the friction drums. The friction belt is slightly slack. When a document passes between the belt and the friction drums, it moves the third pulley against the action of the tensioning means and causes the friction belt which is stretchable and resilient to become more taut. If the document is stiff it becomes further extended and the tautness is increased still further by the third member pressing against the stretchable friction belt on the opposite side of the pulley to provide two points of stretching.

TL;DR: In this paper, a rotary drive unit is disposed on a support base and a rotational drive pulley is installed on the distal end of the rotary shaft of the first arm.
Abstract: A robot for a production machine including a rotation drive unit disposed on a support base; a first arm having a proximal end portion fixed to a rotary shaft of the rotation drive unit; a first proximal-side pulley disposed coaxially with the rotary shaft and fixed to the support base; a second proximal-side pulley fixed to a distal end portion of the first arm; an intermediate shaft rotatably supported on the distal end portion of the first arm and penetrating a center portion of the second proximal-side pulley; a first distal-side pulley provided integrally with the intermediate shaft; a first rotation transmission section for drivingly connecting the first distal-side pulley and the first proximal-side pulley; a second arm having a proximal end portion fixed to the intermediate shaft; a distal-side shaft rotatably supported on a distal end portion of the second arm; a second distal-side pulley provided integrally with the distal-side shaft; a second rotation transmission section for drivingly connecting the second distal-side pulley and the second proximal-side pulley; and a chuck fixed to the distal-side shaft. The tooth-number ratio between the first proximal-side pulley and the first distal-side pulley is set to n:l. The tooth-number ratio between the second proximal-side pulley and the second distal-side pulley is set to 1:m.
