TL;DR: In this article, an automatic belt tensioner of the type including a pivoted arm and belt engaging pulley includes an improved tensioning means to maintain a constant tension on a drive belt.
Abstract: An automatic belt tensioner of the type including a pivoted arm and belt engaging pulley includes an improved tensioning means to maintain a constant tension on a drive belt. A cam having an eccentric portion is wrapped and stretched by an elastomer strap. As the strap stretches, the point of tangency of the wrapped strap varies continuously to vary the effective moment arm of the tensioned strap on the cam, which is rigid to the pivoted arm. The strap tension, and the effective moment arm given by the radius of the point of tangency, are matched at each point to give a constant torque and belt tension.

TL;DR: The gearbox arrangement has a drive side drive pulley (5) and a drive part which is connected with a driven axle (20) in a torque proof manner as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The gearbox arrangement has a drive side drive pulley (5) and a drive part which is connected with a driven axle (20) in a torque proof manner The drive part has the form of a drive pulley (18) running outward from the driven axle The drive pulley has a bulge (34) radially at a distance from the driven axle Another drive part has the form of another drive pulley (16) running radially outward from another driven axle (21) The bulge of the former drive pulley runs away from the latter drive pulley

TL;DR: In this paper, a first pulley is coupled by a flexible belt to a second pulley for delivering power from a source to a driven device, and an idler pulley was urged against the belt to create tension therein.
Abstract: A first pulley is coupled by a flexible belt to a second pulley for delivering power from a source to a driven device. An idler pulley is urged against the belt to create tension therein. A cam, coupled for swinging movement to the idler pulley, faces against a cam guide in a manner to vary the spacing between the guide and the idler pulley in correspondence with the amount of swinging movement. A spring secured to the cam nudges the latter in a direction to incrementally increase the spacing between the guide and the pulley in order to maintain a pre-selected degree of tension in the belt upon the occurrence of a surge in power delivered from the source to the driven device with consequent incremental permanent stretching of the belt.

TL;DR: An experiment using the hands and distal forearms of cadavers was designed to determine which damaged pulleys increase excursion length of the flexor tendon with constant tendon and resisting loads and an intact oblique or first annular pulley can maintain normal excursion of the tendon.

TL;DR: In this article, a control device in continuously variable transmission system for a vehicle, wherein a belt is racked across a pulley on the input side and an output side, an engine power is transmitted through this belt, and an urging force of the belt by one of the pulleys is controlled by a line pressure of a hydraulic cylinder of the engine pulley.
Abstract: In a control device in continuously variable transmission system for a vehicle, wherein a belt is racked across a pulley on the input side and a pulley on the output side, an engine power is transmitted through this belt, and an urging force of the belt by one of the pulleys is controlled by a line pressure of a hydraulic cylinder of the pulley, an engine output torque is determined from an engine rotational speed, an intake throttle opening or an intake air flowrate per unit rotation of the engine and engine operation parameters other than said data, and the line pressure is regulated in relation to the so determined value to obtain the proper line pressure as accurately commensurate to the actual output torque of the engine, so that the fuel consumption rate can be lowered to the maximum, avoiding the slips of the belt.
