TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a meshable meshable belt with toothed pulley for conveying, which consists of two generally parallel layers of flexible material sandwiched tensile section.
Abstract: Endless means for conveying employing juxtaposed facing belts, each belt including two generally parallel layers of flexible material sandwiched tensile section. The belt is adapted for use with toothed pulleys. A plurality of longitudinally spaced lugs extend from one layer to be meshable with teeth of a pulley and a plurality of longitudinally spaced crop engaging members extend from the second layer.

TL;DR: In this paper, a slip sensing mechanism for a multilink or articulated belt drive includes a flexible arm on which is disposed a roller maintained in abutment with the belt.
Abstract: A slip sensing mechanism for a multilink or articulated belt drive includes a flexible arm on which is disposed a roller maintained in abutment with the belt. The flexible arm has formed integrally therewith or otherwise secured thereto a strain gauge which will provide a measurement proportional to the deflection of the arm. This deflection is indicative of the radius at which the belt is operating relative to a pulley. The roller in abutting the individual link members of the belt causes an oscillating or AC component which is measured by the strain gauge. This AC component is proportional to the speed at which the belt passes thereunder. It is possible by knowing the rotary speed of the pulley and the radius by which the belt is operating to calculate the slip speed, if any, of the belt relative to the pulley by obtaining the difference between the product of pulley speed and belt radius and the product of link width and frequency. These measurements and calculations are easily manipulated by a conventional digital computer to provide a value for slip speed which can be used for correction to the pulley drive system.

TL;DR: The length, breaking strength, and tensile strength of each of the annular fibro-osseous pulleys of digital flexor sheath in ten fresh human cadaver specimens were measured and the first annular pulley and the fourth annularity pulley were found to be the strongest.
Abstract: Summary The length, breaking strength, and tensile strength of each of the annular fibroosseous pulleys of digital flexor sheath in ten fresh human cadaver specimens were measured. The first annular pulley and the fourth annular pulley were found to be the strongest, while the second annular pulley was the weakest. The design of artificial pulleys should reproduce the strength of the first annular and fourth annular pulleys. Suggested minimum requirements for the breaking strength of artificial implant pulleys may be made based on these studies.

TL;DR: In this article, the transmission chain for a cone pulley transmission with links coupled by pins engaging the pulley surfaces is described, and each link accommodating, non-rotatable with respect to it, a pin and, in the longitudinal dimension of the link at a distance therefrom an interpiece, each pin cooperating with an opposite interpiece and with, in each link, adjacent each active side surface of a pin, respectively sufficient free space to accommodate an inter piece or pin respectively, which is coupled to an adjacent link, during its movement.
Abstract: Transmission chain for a cone pulley transmission with links, coupled by pins, engaging the cone pulley surfaces, and by elongate each link accommodating, non-rotatable with respect to it, a pin and, in the longitudinal dimension of the link at a distance therefrom an interpiece; each pin cooperating with an opposite interpiece and with; in each link, adjacent each active side surface of a pin and an interpiece respectively sufficient free space to accommodate an interpiece or pin respectively, which is coupled to an adjacent link, during its movement, and with adjacent sets of links mutually coupled in the longitudinal direction of the transmission chain in that one pin in a first link co-operates with a rolling contact movement with an interpiece in an adjacent, staggered link.
