TL;DR: In this paper, a spotter system is described for assisting a weightlifter to safely exert a maximum effort during a weightlifting procedure, where the lever arm is attached at one end to a piston and cylinder assembly that offers less resistence to the users exerted effort to raise the barbell.
Abstract: A spotter system is disclosed herein for assisting a weightlifter to safely exert a maximum effort during a weightlifting procedure. The system includes a frame for removably supporting a weight arrangement comprised of either free or track weights. The frame further supports a pneumatic lift which includes cables secured at one end to the barbell and at their opposite ends to a pulley. Via a chain drive from the pulley, an intermediate wheel is moved which, in turn, pivots a lever arm. The lever arm is attached at one end to a piston and cylinder assembly that offers less resistence to the users exerted effort to raise the barbell. Control of the resistence is effected by body limb activation of positive or negative switches coupled to the piston and cylinder assembly which further includes an air compressor, gages and relief valves.

TL;DR: In this paper, two tensioners are used to maintain minimum tension that insure power transmission and minimize slip: dry friction or hydraulic tensioners, and an experimental device and a specific transmission error measurement method have been used to evaluate the performances of a generic transmission by determining the pulley-belt slip for these two kinds of tensioners.

TL;DR: In this article, an adjustable supporting table with a basic frame (10), a first moveable bracket (20), a basic pulley assembly (30), and a first cable (33) is presented.
Abstract: An adjustable supporting table generally comprises a basic frame (10), a first moveable bracket (20), a first pulley assembly (30), and a first driving device (40). The basic frame (10) includes a main traverse rod (11). The first moveable bracket (20) is pivotally attached to the basic frame (10) and is provided with a traverse rod (22). The first pulley assembly(30) is configured by a plurality of basic frame pulleys (31), a plurality of first pulleys (32), and a first cable (33). The basic pulley assembly is rotationally disposed at the main traverse rod (11) of the basic frame (10). The first pulleys (32) are rotationally disposed at the traverse rod (22) of the first moveable bracket (20). The first cable (33) is routed along those plurality of basic pulleys (31) and first pulleys (32). The first driving device (4) is fixedly disposed on the basic frame(10) for extending or rewinding the first cable (33). When the first driving device (40) is actuated, the first cable (33) can be extended or wound such that the first moveable bracket (20) can be disposed at a desired position. To be accompanied when published by Figure 1 of the drawings.

TL;DR: A swim stroke exercise device including an adjustable resistance mechanism is provided in this paper, where a roller assembly having a roller clutch and a drive shaft extending from one end and a spring rewind assembly attached opposite the drive shaft is used to simulate a swimming motion.
Abstract: A swim stroke exercise device including an adjustable resistance mechanism is provided The resistance mechanism is attached to one end of the exercise device and includes a roller assembly having a roller clutch and a drive shaft extending from one end and a spring rewind assembly attached opposite the drive shaft The drive shaft supports a drive pulley including a number of concentric engagement areas having different diameters Adjustably disposed above the roller assembly, a resistance device includes an output shaft terminating in a mag pulley opposite the resistance device formed similarly to the drive pulley with a number of concentric engagement areas having different diameters that are aligned with the engagement areas on the drive pulley The concentric engagement areas allow a belt trained about the pulleys to be moved to various positions on both the drive pulley and mag pulley to increase or decrease the amount of resistance provided to the drive shaft by the clutch A separate adjustment mechanism is also connected directly to the clutch to vary the resistance provided by the clutch An elongate member is attached to the roller assembly and is pulled to simulate a swimming motion against the resistance provided by the resistance device and the spring rewind assembly When pulling ceases on the elongate member, the spring rewind assembly retracts the elongate member without interference from the resistance mechanism due to the roller clutch

TL;DR: In this article, a drive belt tensioner assembly for a motor-generator unit consisting of a rotatable drive pulley and a tensioner pulley is configured to engage the drive belt on a side of the motor generator.
Abstract: A drive belt tensioner assembly for a motor-generator unit is comprises a motor-generator unit having a rotatable drive pulley, configured to engage a drive belt, extending therefrom. A drive belt assembly housing is fixed to the motor-generator unit and has an inner surface defining an opening through which the rotatable drive pulley of the motor-generator unit extends. A tensioner mounting ring is mounted to, and rotatable with respect to, the drive belt assembly housing. A tensioner pulley is mounted for rotation on the tensioner mounting ring and is configured to engage the drive belt on a side of the motor-generator unit drive pulley. A biasing assembly having a first end mounted to the tensioner mounting ring and a second end mounted in a fixed relationship to the motor-generator unit exerts a biasing force on the tensioner mounting ring to rotate the ring and the tensioner pulley against the drive belt.
