TL;DR: In this paper, a wire management unit adapted for a wire saw device (200, 300, 400, 500) having a wire (213) forming a wire web for cutting is described, which includes a pulley moving device (240, 440), at least one pulley (220, 520) for redirecting the wire and adapted for guiding the wire to the wire web.
Abstract: A wire management unit adapted for a wire saw device (200; 300; 400; 500) having a wire (213) forming a wire web for cutting is described. The wire management unit includes a pulley moving device (240; 440); at least one pulley (220; 520) for redirecting the wire and adapted for guiding the wire to the wire web, wherein the at least one pulley is connected to the pulley moving device and is adapted to rotate around a pulley axis; a spool (212) for providing a wire towards the wire web during unwinding of the wire from the spool, wherein the spool includes a rotation axis (212a) and a wire carrying area (213a) with a length along the direction of the rotational axis; and wherein the pulley moving device is adapted to move the at least one pulley along the direction of the rotation axis.

TL;DR: In this paper, an automatic drilling control system is described for a conventional drilling apparatus and rig having a drill line rolled up or fed off the drum during drilling by the engine and extending through a crown block and traveling block to a fixed point providing a dead line.
Abstract: An automatic drilling control system is disclosed for a conventional drilling apparatus and rig having a drill line rolled up or fed off the drum during drilling by the engine and extending through a crown block and traveling block to a fixed point providing a dead line. The crown block and traveling block form a pulley system for supporting a drill pipe during drilling. A weight indicator gauge on the drilling console is hydraulically actuated from a pressure sensor connected to the dead line. A conventional brake drum controls the rate of feed out of the drill line to determine the tension of the dead line. A double-acting, fluid-actuated cylinder and piston connected to the brake handle positively move it to control the brake force on the drum. A three-way electric solenoid valve controls the application of pressurized fluid selectively to the piston in response to a pressure transducer in the hydraulic line from the pressure sensor. This provides a very close control of bit weight and provides greater drilling speed and greater uniformity of drilling operation. The apparatus may be supplemented with controls which operate the brake in response to overspeed of the drum or in response to close approach of the traveling block to the crown block to apply a braking force to stop the apparatus and prevent damage.

TL;DR: In this paper, a tensioner for an endless power transmission belt, the belt (12) being driven about a sheave, is described. But the tensioner may also include a base (22, 122), a resilient device (46, 146), and first and second arms (24, 26, 124, 126) pivotally coupled for movement in an opened and a closed direction.
Abstract: A tensioner (14, 114) for an endless power transmission belt, the belt (12) being driven about a sheave. The tensioner may comprise a base (22, 122), a resilient device (46, 146), and first and second arms (24, 26; 124, 126) pivotally coupled for movement in an opened and a closed direction. The tensioner (14, 114) may also comprise first and second pulleys (25, 27; 125, 127) rotably coupled to the and second arms (24, 26; 124, 126), the resilient device (46, 146) biasing the arms in the closed direction in which the first and second pulleys (25, 27; 125, 127) apply tension to the belt (12). The tensioner (14, 114) may also comprise first and second stops (28, 30; 128, 130) positioned outside the arms on the base (22, 122) to limit the movement of the arms in the open direction in response to an increase in tension in the belt.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of using a collapsible exercise device to position a first end of an adjustable incline at a desired height with respect to a vertical support member is described.
Abstract: An aspect of the invention involves a method of using a collapsible exercise device including providing a collapsible exercise device; positioning a first end of an adjustable incline at a desired height with respect to a vertical support member so that the adjustable incline is at a desired inclination; moving first and second combination pulley-support and pull-up bars to a desired position; moving first and second pulleys connected to the first and second combination pulley-support and pull-up bars to a desired location; and moving a support platform along the adjustable incline through cable movement through the first and second pulleys on the combination pulley-support and pull-up bars.

TL;DR: In this paper, a high speed printer is coupled to a servo controlled driving motor having intermittent motion, and the motor drives a helically grooved pulley which has attached to it left and right cable segments of equal length.
Abstract: A high speed printer in which the carriage carrying a printing wheel is coupled to a servo controlled driving motor having intermittent motion. The motor drives a helically grooved pulley which has attached to it left and right cable segments of equal length. The other ends of the cable segments are attached to the movable carriage. During movement of the carriage the total length of each cable segment remains constant and equal and provides protection against temporary mechanical drift.
