TL;DR: In this article, a model predictive controller for three-level PWM rectifiers with satisfactory predictive control was proposed, which integrated the advantages of satisfactory control and model predictive control to reduce the high du/dt impaction and reduce computation time of the system.
Abstract: A novel compound control scheme for three-level PWM rectifiers with satisfactory predictive control was presented, which integrated the advantages of satisfactory control and model predictive control. It made PWM rectifiers work in low switching frequency with high efficiency, therefore reduced the switching losses and retained electromagnetic interference.A discrete mathematical model of three-level PWM rectifiers which adopted a model predictive control strategy was deducted;A satisfactory model predictive controller was designed;A PWM rectifier membership fuzzy decision scheme was presented. In order to overcome the high du/dt impact problem of the three-level topology,an optimized switching sequence was propounded. It not only eliminates the high du/dt impaction, but also reduces the computation time of the system.Simulation and experiment results show that when the system works in low switching frequency, the input current distortion can be efficiently inhibited and the power factor of the system is near to unity.Such a system can also provide good dynamic and static performances.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a rectifier circuit for general purpose inverter in which generation of harmonics is suppressed while improving the power factor through simple circuitry and the size can be reduced while facilitating connection.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rectifier circuit for general purpose inverter in which generation of harmonics is suppressed while improving the power factor through simple circuitry and the size can be reduced while facilitating connection. SOLUTION: The rectifier circuit for general purpose inverter principally comprises a PWM rectifier circuit and a control circuit 9' turns an IGBT constituting the bridge circuit 8' in the PWM rectifier circuit on/off to bring the differential voltage between an output voltage Vdc and a target voltage Vdc* to zero based on a pseudo sine wave generated from the output voltage va of a rectifier, a signal based on the differential voltage and an input current detected by an AC current detector 17. The zero differential voltage is applied to dead time compensation circuits 22, 23. Consequently, on/off timing of the IGBT can be controlled while suppressing error to a command value. The pseudo sine wave generating circuit comprises an operational amplifier for detecting the input current immediately after turn on power and delivers the phase of a detected sine wave as the phase of a power supply voltage Vs.

TL;DR: In the synchronous rotating frame, the PWM rectifier may be decoupled by the state feedback, so the engineering design technique of controller for dual-close-loop, which has been extensively used, is applied to the P WM rectifier.
Abstract: In the synchronous rotating frame, the PWM rectifier may be decoupled by the state feedback. After decoupling, the engineering design technique of controller for dual-close-loop, which has been extensively used, is applied to the PWM rectifier. The proposed technique is verified by experiment.

TL;DR: In this paper, a combination topology is proposed, including a PWM rectifier, a dual-active-bridge (DAB), and a H-bridge for high-field (HF) magnet resonance imaging (MRI).
Abstract: High-field (HF) magnet resonance imaging (MRI) is designed as a large aperture human body imaging system. The superconducting magnet provides magnetic field B 0 for HF MRI. The power supply is a key component, provides excitation and demagnetization functions for superconducting magnet. According to the requirements, the superconducting magnet power supply needs to be designed and developed with small volume and high reliability and bidirectional energy flow. A combination topology is proposed, including a pulse-width-modulation (PWM) rectifier, a dual-active-bridge (DAB), and a H-bridge. In this paper, the principle of the combination topology is introduced briefly. Meanwhile, the analysis and test results of a PWM rectifier based on hybrid active-neutral-point-clamped (ANPC) three-level are given.

TL;DR: In this paper, a double modulation wave carrier-based PWM (DMWPWM) was proposed to eliminate low frequency ripple of three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter completely under some modulation index and power factor.
Abstract: Three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverters have been widely applied in power conversion device occasions of medium high voltage and power, and, most recently, increasing in occasions of the low-voltage low-power applications. The three-level inverters have the problems of low frequency ripple that appears in the neutral-point (NP) of the DC-link under some operating conditions because of its unique structure and the limitations of the existing modulation methods. The Low frequency ripple of the three-level NPC inverter PWM rectifier technology is an important problem. Conventional three-level carrier-based pulse width modulation (PWM), which has only one modulation wave per phase, cannot eliminate low-frequency neutral point(NP) potential ripple of three-level neutral point clamped (NPC)inverter completely under some modulation index and power factor. This paper analyzes the condition, which eliminated low-frequency voltage oscillation of three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverter completely, established the model of the low frequency ripple of the three-level NPC inverter. A double modulation wave carrier-based PWM (DMWPWM) was proposed in this paper. Based on voltage equivalent principle and NP potential balance principle, one modulation wave is decomposed into two modulation waves to implement modulation. The proposed DMWPWM can eliminate the low frequency ripple of the three-level NPC inverter completely. Fundamental principle of the proposed PWM was introduced in this paper. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by simulation.
