TL;DR: In this paper, a nonlinear control law based on Lyapunov's stability theory for the PWM rectifier is presented, and the converter can be stabilized globally for handling large-signal disturbances.
Abstract: In this paper, the mathematical model of three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) voltage source rectifier (VSR) using switching functions is founded firstly, and its operating principle is analyzed. Then a new nonlinear control law based on Lyapunov's stability theory for the PWM rectifier is presented. With this control law, the converter can be stabilized globally for handling large-signal disturbances, and exhibit good transient response. Also, by designing PI controller of DC-link voltage and adding feedforward control of load current, the steady state error of the converter resulting from parameter uncertain can be eliminated effectively. Computer simulations of the system confirm the validity of the mathematical model and the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

TL;DR: In this article, the main aspects of designing a low voltage three-phase PWM rectifier for bidirectional AC/DC power flow with unity power factor were discussed and a model in Matlab/Simulink environment has been built for a 10kW active rectifier with an LCL filter connected to grid side of the rectifier.
Abstract: Abstract The paper covers the main aspects of designing a low voltage three-phase PWM rectifier for bidirectional AC/DC power flow with unity power factor. A model in Matlab/Simulink environment has been built for a 10kW active rectifier with an LCL filter connected to grid side of the rectifier. The primary goal of the model is to achieve low grid current harmonic content for frequency ranges described in worldwide applicable standards and above. LCL filter parameter design procedure is described in the paper and implemented in the rectifier model to achieve a better power quality with limitations in passive element size. A simple “p-q” theory-based voltage oriented control algorithm is used in the model and described in the present paper. Model performance is characterised by dynamic response, stability and grid parameters during simulation. The simulation results demonstrate that the modelled rectifier system is stable and the grid current harmonic content is low both in the low-and high-frequency ranges.

TL;DR: In this article, the main transformer network side or valve side cascade rectifier voltage-modulating circuit comprises the rectifier main transformer, the modulation and the rectifiers, and it can generate three level voltage amplitude coarse modulation, and when modulating valve side diode rectifier, single group or two groups outwinding bridge rectifier of every phase winding on-off switch to shifting phase control with SCR (or SSR solid-state relay), to achieve free-level thinning main transformer rectifier amplitude coarse modulating voltage.
Abstract: A main transformer network side or valve side cascade rectifier voltage-modulating circuit comprises the rectifier main transformer, the modulation and the rectifier, and it is characterized by that the rectifier main transformer and the modulation network side is winding cascade, and the main valve side connecting SCR or diode rectifier, the modulation valve side connecting diode rectifiers or PWM rectifier, two DC outputs parallel connecting. The main transformer valve side winding is the winding with same phase and adverse parallel two-star shape with intermediate tap, and through bridge rectifier, it can generate three level voltage amplitude coarse modulation, and when modulating valve side diode rectifier, single group or two groups out-winding bridge rectifier of every phase winding on-off switch to shifting phase control with SCR (or SSR solid-state relay), to achieve free-level thinning main transformer rectifier amplitude coarse modulating voltage. It applies for the high-power rectifier modulating voltage and rapidly achieves voltage amplitude modulation to reduce voltage flicker. The main transformer network side cascade voltage-modulating rectifier principle can be used in technological reconstruct of the existing rectifier devices.

TL;DR: In this paper, a theoretical analysis and a systematic comparison of the two converters, from the point of view of converter kVA ratings, DC bus voltage requirements, switch ratings, and reactive component designs are presented.
Abstract: Two methods to solve harmonic pollution problems caused by the diode rectifier are possible: one replacing the diode rectifier with a PWM rectifier and the other connecting an active power filter to the diode rectifier. Despite numerous publications for two converters, the features and evaluations between them have not been clearly explained. This paper, in detail, presents a theoretical analysis and a systematic comparison of the two converters, from the point of view of converter kVA ratings, DC bus voltage requirements, switch ratings, and reactive component designs.

TL;DR: In this paper, the utility model discloses a circuit topology structure of a pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifier, which comprises a single-phase PWM rectifier and a three-phase four-wire rectifier.
Abstract: The utility model discloses a circuit topology structure of a pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifier The circuit topology structure of the PWM rectifier comprises a single-phase PWM rectifier and a three-phase four-wire PWM rectifier, wherein only one inductor is needed in the main topology of the single-phase PWM rectifier, and only three inductors are needed in the main topology of the three-phase four-wire PWM rectifier The control method of the PWM rectifier is based on the sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) technology, and a voltage outer loop and current inner loop control method is employed The public voltage outer loop and the independent current inner loop both employ a PI control method, and the P and I parameters are set respectively for the public voltage outer loop and the independent current inner loop With the circuit topology structure, in-phase of the current and voltage at a power grid side is achieved, the harmonic wave content at the power grid side is reduced, and harmonic wave pollution is reduced
