TL;DR: In this paper, a class of clay mineral-biochar composites which were produced via a facile cleaner pyrolysis process starting from two abundant natural materials (montmorillonite and bamboo powder) were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms, thermogravimetric analysis, and scanning electron microscopy.

••
TL;DR: In this article, the thermal degradation mechanisms of hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin were investigated using pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.

••
TL;DR: In this article, slow pyrolysis/activation of biomass in a flow of steam is studied in laboratory equipment supplied with a fixed bed reactor, and agricultural residues of different origin are selected as residues.

••
TL;DR: In this paper, a three-apparent-reactions model is proposed to identify each apparent reaction involved in PVC pyrolysis, and the corresponding temperature intervals of these three stages are: 200-320°C, 250-375°C and 375-520°C.

••
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that high surface area activated carbons can be prepared from the chemical activation of biochar with zinc chloride as activating agents.
