TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a system for processing an intellectual property (IP) by providing an automated agent to execute one or more searches for a user to locate documents relating to an IP interest, the agent accessing a user profile to determine the user's IP interest and identifying one OR more IP documents each having a tag responsive to the IP interest.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for processing an intellectual property (IP) by providing an automated agent to execute one or more searches for a user to locate one or more documents relating to an IP interest, the agent accessing a user profile to determine the user's IP interest and identifying one or more IP documents each having a tag responsive to the IP interest; ranking one or more documents located by the automated agent; and displaying the one or more documents located by the automated agent.

TL;DR: In this paper, a search query is received, a related query related to the query is determined, an article (such as a web page) associated with the search query was determined, and a ranking score for the article based at least in part on data associated with related queries was determined.
Abstract: Systems and methods that improve search rankings for a search query by using data associated with queries related to the search query are described. In one aspect, a search query is received, a related query related to the search query is determined, an article (such as a web page) associated with the search query is determined, and a ranking score for the article based at least in part on data associated with the related query is determined. Several algorithms and types of data associated with related queries useful in carrying out such systems and methods are described.

TL;DR: An experimental query interface is proposed that filters NL query statements for search predicates that are derived from constructs on conceptual schemas, thereby avoiding the computational difficulty with full-fledged NL parsing.
Abstract: Natural language (NL) interfaces for database query formulation have always been recognized as a much needed enhancement for end-users. Poor performances with earlier NL systems had led to a lull in research in this field. However, latter-day experiments and systems appear to be sufficiently more promising to warrant continued and further research in this area. This paper proposes an experimental query interface that filters NL query statements for search predicates that are derived from constructs on conceptual schemas, thereby avoiding the computational difficulty with full-fledged NL parsing. A prototype of the Conceptual Query Language (CQL) exists as a front-end to an Oracle relational DBMS.

TL;DR: The conclusions are that the current YouTube algorithm favors the presence of reliable videos in upper rank positions in diabetes-related searches and how videos from reliable channels, such as hospitals and health organizations, are evolving in the ranking is analyzed.
Abstract: Health consumers are increasingly using the Internet to search for health information. The existence of overloaded, inaccurate, obsolete, or simply incorrect health information available on the Internet is a serious obstacle for finding relevant and good-quality data that actually helps patients. Search engines of multimedia Internet platforms are thought to help users to find relevant information according to their search. But, is the information recovered by those search engines from quality sources? Is the health information uploaded from reliable sources, such as hospitals and health organizations, easily available to patients? The availability of videos is directly related to the ranking position in YouTube search. The higher the ranking of the information is, the more accessible it is. The aim of this study is to analyze the ranking evolution of diabetes health videos on YouTube in order to discover how videos from reliable channels, such as hospitals and health organizations, are evolving in the ranking. The analysis was done by tracking the ranking of 2372 videos on a daily basis during a 30-day period using 20 diabetes-related queries. Our conclusions are that the current YouTube algorithm favors the presence of reliable videos in upper rank positions in diabetes-related searches.

TL;DR: A structured approach helps managers to make a more effective use of IS resources because it includes other elements relative to the priority-setting process, rather than just those that are purely financial.
Abstract: When it comes to deciding which project proposals should get the nod, top executives, information systems managers, and users often have conflicting views. None of these should make the choice alone, says this author. With the IS manager as coordinator, users and top executives can contribute to an eight-step process that will reconcile differing perspectives and permit an orderly ranking of projects. Such a structured approach helps managers to make a more effective use of IS resources because it includes other elements relative to the priority-setting process, rather than just those that are purely financial.
