TL;DR: This new zinc reagent is a free-flowing solid that can be used in combination with a nickel catalyst to difluoromethylate aryl iodides, bromides, and triflates at room temperature.
Abstract: A stable and isolable difluoromethyl zinc reagent has been prepared through the reaction of ICF2H with diethyl zinc and DMPU. This new zinc reagent is a free-flowing solid and can be used in combination with a nickel catalyst to difluoromethylate aryl iodides, bromides, and triflates at room temperature. Such mild conditions for the catalytic difluoromethylation of these substrates are unprecedented.

TL;DR: The feasibility of Fenton's reagent to treat waste chemicals from an academic research laboratory was investigated and it was possible to obtain simultaneously maximal COD removal and minimal chemical sludge after treatment, which is a residue that needs further processing.

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction of maleic polypropylene with some alkali metal compounds was studied and it was shown that the increase in temperature from 80 to 120°C increased the rate of the reaction and di-cumyl peroxide was effective as a radical reagent.
Abstract: An addition reaction of maleic anhydride with polypropylene takes place in the presence of radical reagents or sunlight. The initial rate of the reaction was proportional to the concentration of polypropylene and maleic anhydride, and one-half power of the concentration of the radical reagents. The increase in the temperature from 80 to 120°C increased the rate of the reaction and di-cumyl peroxide was effective as a radical reagent for this reaction.
Ionic crosslinked rubber-like polymers were obtained from the reaction of maleic polypropylene with some alkali metal compounds. They showed the characteristic absorption band due to COO⊖ in their infrared spectra.

TL;DR: In this article, a mechanochemical approach for the cleavage of β-O-4-linkages in lignin is reported, which is transition metal and solvent free, requires only inexpensive reagents, and tolerates the presence of water and standard reagent impurities.

17 Nov 1988TL;DR: In this article, a rotatable reaction table is arranged in a side-by-side relation to the sample table and the reagent table, and a single pipetting device is operated in such a manner as to transfer all the samples to the reaction vessels followed by the supply of the reagents to these reaction vessels.
Abstract: An automatic analyzing system has a sample table for supporting a plurality of sample vessels and a reagent table for supporting a plurality of reagent vessels. The sample table and the reagent table are fixed to a common drive shaft. The system further has a rotatable reaction table for supporting a plurality of reaction vessels. The reaction table is arranged in a side-by-side relation to the sample table and the reagent table. The system further has a single pipetting device disposed between the reaction table and the stack of the sample table and the reagent table for a swinging motion therebetween so as to suck samples and reagents from the sample vessels and the reagent vessels and to deliver the same to the reaction vessels. The pipetting device is operated in such a manner as to transfer all the samples to the reaction vessels followed by the supply of the reagents to these reaction vessels.
