TL;DR: In this paper, a rear-end collision prevention switch was used to lighten a stop lamp in an early time and prevent a rear end collision by separating a driver's foot from an acceleration pedal.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To lighten a stop lamp in an early time and thereby prevent beforehand any rear-end collision by separating a driver's foot from an acceleration pedal while turning on an rear-end collision prevention switch and thereby lightening the stop lamp. CONSTITUTION:A rear-end collision prevention switch 2 for closing contacts 9, 10 upon separating driver's foot from an acceleration pedal 1 is provided on said acceleration pedal. The collision prevention switch 2 is connected in parallel to a stop switch 3 closed by stepping a brake pedal 11 to form a collision prevention circuit A. In addition, the collision prevention circuit A includes release switches 4 to 6 connected serially to the collision prevention switch 2 and closed when a vehicle is stoped or when a lower speed of the vehicle or when manually operated, and an on-off relay for turning on and off the stop lamp 8 until the stop switch 3 is operated. Hereby, speed reduction of the vehicle can be signalled to the succeeding car in an early time for previously preventing any rear-end collision from being produced.
