TL;DR: In this article, a multi-signal brake signal system was proposed to alert the driver in the following vehicle when the leading vehicle is undergoing a panic stop action, thereby enabling the driver to possibly avoid a rear end collision with the leading vehicles.
Abstract: An automotive alarm system that provides the driver of a following vehicle with two different brake signals, related to the foot pressure that the driver of the leading vehicle is applying to his brake pedal. The multi-signal brake signal system alerts the driver in the following vehicle when the leading vehicle is undergoing a panic stop action, thereby enabling the driver in the following vehicle to possibly avoid a rear end collision with the leading vehicle.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a scheme to enable a mobile vehicle to follow a preceding vehicle fitting to the travel speed of the preceding vehicle by projecting travel speed information of the mobile vehicle by a signal projecting means, and performing the automatic adjustment of the travel speeds of the vehicle based on the receiving information of a signal reception means by a rear end collision preventing control means.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a mobile vehicle to follow a preceding vehicle fitting to the travel speed of the preceding vehicle by projecting the travel speed information of the mobile vehicle by a signal projecting means, and performing the automatic adjustment of the travel speed of the mobile vehicle based on the receiving information of a signal reception means by a rear end collision preventing control means. CONSTITUTION:When the mobile vehicle A2 approaches a preceding mobile vehicle A1 within a preset distance for preventing rear end collision the travel speed of the mobile vehicle A2 is adjusted automatically based on travel speed information from the signal projecting means S2 so that the travel speed can be set at the one fitted to the travel speed of the preceding mobile vehicle A1. Such adjustment for the travel speed is performed when the vehicle travels at decelerated speed, or when the vehicle travels so as to approach a stopped preceding mobile vehicle A1, and when the preceding mobile vehicle A1 restarts travel from a stopped state. In such a way, it is possible to follow and travel the mobile vehicle fitting to the travel speed of the preceding mobile vehicle A1.

TL;DR: In this paper, the inclination of an inclined plate 3 is set at a specified angle first turning a dial 5 so that a weight 6 slides along the inclined plate and reaches B-position to actuate a lighting switch 8 when an extremely large acceleration acceleration generated normally at the time of starting or stopping a vehicle, is applied to the vehicle.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve safety by detecting a displacement of acceleration at the time of deceleration, etc. of a vehicle as the displacement of a weight provided in the vehicle, and actuating a lighting switch utilizing the displacement of the weight to automatically light an emergency indicator lamp. CONSTITUTION:When an automatic lighting device is used, the inclination of an inclined plate 3 is set at a specified angle first turning a dial 5 so that a weight 6 slides along the inclined plate 3 and reaches B-position to actuate a lighting switch 8 when an extremely larger G (generated at the time of quick stopping, rear end collision, etc.) then G (gravitation acceleration) generated normally at the time of starting or stopping a vehicle, is applied to the vehicle. In such set-state, the weight 6 is adapted to climb the inclined plate 3 and presses a lever 8b of the lighting switch 8 to turn the switch 8 ON when the the vehicle quickly stops during running and a larger G is applied to the vehicle in front of it. Thus, an emergency indicator lamp lights (turns on and off), thereby it informs the following vehicles that the vehicle is being stopped.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed to reduce a shock caused by a collision between preceding and following transport vehicles accelerating the preceding vehicle while decelerating the following vehicle by respectively arranging a superconductor in one end and a magnet in the other end of the front and rear ends of the transport vehicle.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a shock caused by a collision between preceding and following transport vehicles accelerating the preceding vehicle while decelerating the following vehicle by respectively arranging a superconductor in one end and a magnet in the other end of the front and rear ends of the transport vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Of the bumpers 1, 2 provided in the front and rear of each vehicle (transport vehicle), it constitutes the front bumper 1 of a permanent magnet and the rear bumper 2 of a superconductor. When the following vehicle of relatively high advancing speed tends to collide against the preceding vehicle from behind, generating a line of magnetic force from the superconductor 2 so as to inhibit a line of magnetic force, generated from the permanent magnet 1, from coming into the superconductor 2 placed in a superconducting condition, the Meissner effect, cancelling both the lines of magnetic force, accelerates the preceding vehicle while decelerating the following vehicle. By the mechanism thus obtained, a collision against the preceding vehicle from behind can be well prevented in a shockless condition.

TL;DR: In this article, a self-traveling vehicle is prevented from colliding into the rear end of a vehicle by separately disposing of two signal lines with which first and second current collectors provided in the vehicle are brought into slide contact in zones, and connecting the signal lines to each other in adjacent zones.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a self-traveling vehicle from colliding into the rear end by separately disposing two signal lines with which first and second current collectors provided in the vehicle are brought into slide contact in zones, and connecting the signal lines to each other in adjacent zones. CONSTITUTION:When a following self-traveling vehicle 1B enters a zone Z-1 in a state that a self-traveling vehicle 1B is located in a zone Z, a closed loop of a power supply rail 10S, the current collector 6 of a preceding vehicle 1A, a rearward movement inhibiting relay 12, a shoe 4, a signal line 8 of a zone Z, a connecting line 9, the signal line 7 of a zone Z-1, the shoe 3 of a following vehicle 1B, a forward movement inhibiting relay 11, a shoe 5, and the rail 10S is formed. Thus, the rearward movement of the vehicle 1A is inhibited, and the forward movement of the vehicle 1B is inhibited; thereby, the vehicle 1A is prevented from colliding into the rear end of the vehicle 1B.
