TL;DR: In this paper, a rear-end collision prevention reminding device is presented, which consists of a base installed on the tail portion of an automobile and provided with prompt boards, which are arranged towards the left side and right side from the center of the base.
Abstract: The invention relates to an automobile rear-end collision prevention reminding device. The automobile rear-end collision prevention reminding device comprises a base installed on the tail portion of an automobile and provided with prompt boards. The prompt boards are arranged towards the left side and the right side from the center of the base. All the prompt boards are covered with a light guidecovers used for limiting the visible angles of the prompt boards. The median of the visible angle of each light guide cover inclines to the center of the base. The closer to the center of the base thelight guide covers are, the smaller the inclination angles of the medians of the visible angles are. The front and rear vehicle distances can be displayed through the device, accurate vehicle distance information is supplied to a rear vehicle owner in time, the emergency response time of the driver is shortened, rear-end collision accidents are effectively reduced, the life safety of the driver is guaranteed, and road traffic smoothness is maintained.

TL;DR: It is still useful for a company to have a policy indicating to all staff that should they seek treatment for alcohol dependence they will not be penalized, providing they adhere to the programme, according to B. Hocking.
Abstract: There are many claims made but few, if any, documented successes. The trend is to move away from a single focus on alcohol to broad programmes aimed to assist management and employees with diverse problems, which may include alcoholism. The value of these in turn has not been proven. It is still useful for a company to have a policy indicating to all staff that should they seek treatment for alcohol dependence they will not be penalized, providing they adhere to the programme.' TL;DR: In this paper, an expressway automobile rear-end collision prevention system and a working method thereof is described, where a non-contact radio frequency identification mode based on RFID is adopted to realize vehicle positioning and vehicle speed identification, and early warning of vehicle tailgating.
Abstract: The invention discloses an expressway automobile rear-end collision prevention system and a working method thereof. According to the system, a non-contact radio frequency identification mode based onRFID is adopted to realize vehicle positioning and vehicle speed identification, and early warning of vehicle tailgating is realized, so that the problem of failure of rear-end collision early warningwhen encountering curve obstacles in a rear-end collision prevention system based on laser and radar technologies is solved, the problem of poor real-time performance of rear-end collision early warning in the rear-end collision prevention system based on an image recognition technology is solved, and the problem that lanes cannot be distinguished in the rear-end collision prevention system basedon a global positioning technology is solved. The system is simple in structure; the position of a vehicle Cj is obtained by reading RFID non-contact radio frequency identification electronic tags placed at equal intervals PL on the center line of the traffic lane; and the system has 100% acquisition accuracy and shortest position acquisition time, is not influenced by weather factors and curve obstacles, and ensures the real-time performance of early warning of the vehicle rear-end collision prevention system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors implemented the DOT tailgating treatment pavement markings to assist drivers in establishing the recommended following distance, which is derived from asymptotic stability condition of the GM 5th car-following model and calibrated with data collected on the national highway 1141, Thailand.
Abstract: In Thailand there are more than 100,000 traffic accidents and traffic-related casualties of approximately 12,000 deaths per year The aim of this research is to mitigate or reduce the severity and number of road accidents, especially rear-end collisions This research implemented the DOT tailgating treatment pavement markings to assist drivers in establishing the recommended following distance The recommended following distance is derived from asymptotic stability condition of the GM 5th car-following model and calibrated with data collected on the national highway 1141, Thailand The relationship between flow rates and distance headways was investigated before and after implementing the DOT treatment pavement markings Distance headways are then used as a measure to examine the effectiveness of the markings It is found that for a given flow rate distance headways increase after implementing the markings or the likelihood of rear-end collisions is reduced at the study site Keywords: Close following; Crash rates; Crash severity; Fatalities; Following distance; Highway safety; Rear end collisions; Road markings; Tailgating; Traffic crashes

TL;DR: In this paper, an anti-rear-end-collision prompting system for driving at a portal is presented, which is composed of a vehicle detecting node, a decision-making device and a suggested vehicle speed information prompting device.
Abstract: The invention discloses an anti-rear-end-collision prompting system for driving at a portal. The system is composed of a vehicle detecting node, a decision-making device and a suggested vehicle speedinformation prompting device. The vehicle detecting node is used for monitoring the driving speed of a vehicle closest to a portal within a preset detection road section range and a distance between the vehicle and the portal and transmitting the information to the information processing and decision-making device, wherein the preset detection road section is a road section extending from the portal with a preset detection length. The decision-making device calculates a suggested vehicle speed based on the driving speed from the vehicle detecting node and the distance between the vehicle and the portal. The suggested vehicle speed information prompting device arranged at a position at a distance with a preset safety length to the portal on the road section before the portal is used for carrying out information prompting of the suggested speed. According to the system disclosed by the invention, driving information of vehicles at the tunnel entrance and/or exit can be monitored and prompting information can be provided for the vehicle behind one vehicle, so that occurrence of a rear-end collision is reduced even when the driver of the rear vehicle is in a blind driving state.
