Abstract: As economy is globalized in recent few decades, demand for freight transportation has dramatically increased. In particular, road transportation is a major mode of freight transportation. According to the United States Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) report, the tonnage of goods by heavy vehicles (in millions tons) increased from 12,778 in 2007 to 13,182 in 2012, and this tonnage will increase to 18,786 by 2040 (U.S. DOT, 2014). Similarly, Transport Canada reported that the tonnage of goods by heavy vehicles increased to 251.4 billion tonne-kilometers in 2013, which is a 4.1% increase from 2012 (Transport Canada, 2015).

Abstract: The invention relates to an automobile high-speed working condition anti-collision rear-end collision device and method, and the method comprises the following steps: 1), the state information of a vehicle running in front of the same lane, the information of a vehicle running behind the same lane and the information of a vehicle running on an adjacent lane during the high-speed running of an automobile are detected; 2) when the vehicle running in front of the same lane is braked suddenly, the vehicle decelerates and keeps a safe distance from the front vehicle, and when the vehicle decelerates to a lower limit value, the vehicle runs according to the following method: when no vehicle runs behind the same lane, the automatic driving module controls the vehicle to decelerate continuously and keep a safe distance from the front vehicle on the same lane; when there is a driving vehicle behind the same lane and there is no driving vehicle in front of and behind the adjacent lane, the pathplanning module plans a lane changing track, and the automatic driving module controls the vehicle to drive according to the lane changing track and change the lane to the adjacent lane. The device and the method are beneficial to avoiding collision and rear-end collision between the automobile and surrounding driving vehicles during high-speed driving, and the driving safety is improved.

Based on the method disclosedby the invention, the potential dangerous target behind the vehicle can be actively avoided, so that the risk of rear-end collision of the vehicle is reduced.

Abstract: A real-time collision warning system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a vehicle module installed in a vehicle and measuring vehicle operation information on the vehicle; a roadside device installed in a partition section of a road, receiving the vehicle operation information from the vehicle module in a case where the vehicle module operates in the partition section, and calculating a representative value by section by using the received vehicle operation information; and a control server calculating an accident risk by section by using the vehicle operation information and the representative value by section and transmitting the accident risk by section to the roadside device. The roadside device transmits the accident risk by section to the vehicle module. The vehicle module outputs the accident risk by section of the partition section. According to the present invention, the real-time collision warning system is capable of providing accident risk warning for every vehicle in a road section as well as a vehicle directly ahead. With the present invention, traffic accidents can be reduced based on calculation of accident risk for each vehicle by section and accident risk for each section of the road.
