Abstract: In order to study the characteristics of cyclist head impact point in vehicle-electric bicycle rear-end crashes, we build the models of cyclist, electric-bicycle and vehicle based on PC-Crash, in which three types of vehicle, namely compact car, SUV and sports car are selected, and the impact point between vehicle and electric-bicycle is located in the middle of the bumper and the collision angles are 0°, 30° and 60°, respectively. Major analysis is based on the governing factors such as vehicle types, collision angels and collision speeds. The results indicate that the hood height is a significant factor affecting the head impact point on the vehicle, i.e. the head impact point becomes closer to the front of the vehicle with the hood height increasing. In addition, the head impact point on the vehicle in car to electric-bicycle rear-end crashes is also highly dependent on the collision angle and speed, namely, the impact points is located in the lower middle of the windshield with a larger collision angle at higher collision speeds.

Abstract: Through the analysis of vehicle braking deceleration process, and in the light of the features of the vehicle rear-end collision on the highway, the practical calculation model on safety gap is established. Then three kinds of different safety gap calculation formula are derived. The relationships between the simulation speed and safety gap were simulated under dry pavement conditions by using Matlab software. The simulation results showed that it satisfied with national requirements for safe operation of motor vehicles. Finally the warning method on safety gap was developed based on the different impact factors.

Abstract: The invention discloses an intelligent rear-end collision early warning system, which comprises a main control device (1), an information acquisition device (2), a distance measurement device (3), a display device (5), a sound-light alarming device (6) and a communication device (4), wherein the information acquisition device (2) is used for acquiring the speed of a vehicle, a vehicle flow and weather condition information; the distance measurement device (3) is used for monitoring the distance, the relative speed and the relative angle between a rear vehicle and the vehicle in real time; themain control device (1) is used for analyzing, processing and judging data acquired by the information acquisition device (2) and the distance measurement device (3) and transmitting instruction signals to the display device (5) and the sound-light alarming device (6), and a three-section early warning function is thus realized. According to the intelligent rear-end collision early warning systemdisclosed in the invention, the vehicle speed, the vehicle flow and the weather condition information are acquired in real time by the information acquisition device (2), starting from active defense,the shortcoming of active vehicle safety configuration in the current society is remedied, and the intelligent rear-end collision early warning system has the advantages of low cost, high precision,flexible setting, good stability and the like.
