TL;DR: In this article, a rear-end collision early warning system based on visible light communication (VLC) was proposed. But the system was not designed for the detection of rear-ending collisions.
Abstract: A rear-end collision early-warning system based on visible light communication, comprising a positioning module (4), an MCU (3), an optical communication modulation module (2), an LED lamp (1), a photosensitive receiver (5) and an HMI system (6). The positioning module (4), the optical communication modulation module (2), the photosensitive receiver (5) and the HMI system (6) are connected to the MCU (3) separately, and the LED lamp (1) is connected to the optical communication modulation module (2). Also disclosed is a rear-end collision early-warning method based on visible light communication. Rear-end collision early-warning systems based on visible light communication are mounted on a front vehicle (7) and a rear approaching vehicle (8) respectively, the rear approaching vehicle (8) sends information to the front vehicle (7) in an active manner, such that the front vehicle (7) can obtain more state information about the rear approaching vehicle (8), thereby ensuring the accuracy in rear-end collision early warning of the front vehicle (7). In addition, an appropriate TTC threshold can be selected for the rear-end collision early warning of the front vehicle (7) according to a vehicle model of the rear approaching vehicle (8), thereby making judgment more accurate.

TL;DR: In this paper, a rear-end collision prevention device consisting of an acceleration sensor, a smoke sensor, an SIM card, a GPS module, and a wireless communication module is presented.
Abstract: The invention discloses a rear-end collision prevention device and method based on wireless communication. The rear-end collision prevention device comprises an acceleration sensor, a smoke sensor, anSIM card, a GPS module and a wireless communication module. The acceleration sensor is used for generating collision information for vehicle collision. The smoke sensor is used for generating fire information for an on-site fire. The SIM card is used for registering operation network account information. The GPS module is used for detecting the location information of the rear-end collision prevention device. The wireless communication module is in communication connection with the acceleration sensor, the SIM card and the GPS module, and is used for reporting the collision information, the fire information, the operation network account information and the location information to a traffic monitoring center, sending out voice prompt through a speaker to warn the driver and sending an accident signal around through a wireless transmission chip. The loss caused by accidents can be minimized, and the rescue time can be shortened.

TL;DR: In this article, a rear-end collision active protection system consisting of a rear vehicle radar, a data analysis module, a vehicle tail buffer protection device, a personnel protection devices, an engine control device and a buzzer is presented.
Abstract: The utility model relates to a rear-end collision active protection system for a vehicle. The rear-end collision active protection system comprises a rear vehicle radar, a data analysis module, a vehicle tail buffer protection device, a personnel protection device, an engine control device and a buzzer, the rear vehicle radar is in electric signal connection with the data analysis module, and thedata analysis module is in electric signal connection with the automobile ECU; the automobile ECU is in electric signal connection with the automobile tail buffer protection device, the personnel protection device, the engine control device and the buzzer. The data analysis module obtains dynamic information of a rear vehicle through the rear vehicle radar, and transmits the information to the vehicle ECU after analysis; the automobile ECU controls on-off of the automobile tail buffer protection device, the personnel protection device, the engine control device, the buzzer, the automobile taillamp and the automobile warning lamp. And the engine control device controls disconnection and connection of the automobile power supply relay.
