TL;DR: In this paper, a three-chamber vacuum reducer valve is used in the distributor spark advance control system to provide a source of vacuum for advancing the spark firing during engine overheat conditions.
Abstract: A three-chamber vacuum reducer valve is used in the distributor spark advance control system to provide a source of vacuum for advancing the spark firing during engine overheat conditions. The source of vacuum is greater than the ported spark vacuum found upstream of the throttle plate in a carburetor intake and less than the manifold vacuum. One input to the reducer is the manifold vacuum and the other input is atmospheric pressure which are combined by means of a regulator in the valve for producing an output vacuum which is reduced from the manifold vacuum.

TL;DR: In this article, a marine bearing device which compensates for a shaft misalignment is presented, where the flanges of the shaft are used as bearing surfaces and partial enclosures of the bearing apparatus.
Abstract: The instant invention is a marine bearing device which compensates for a shaft misalignment. No housing is necessary for the bearing since the flanges of the shaft are used as bearing surfaces and partial enclosures of the bearing apparatus. This saves space and eliminates the need for traditionally used hardware. Two concepts are melded to become substance of the instant invention and provide an exceptionally efficient vibration reducing thrust bearing. First is the concept of using two shaft flanges as thrust collars so that both forward and aft thrust bearings can be serviced and mounted on a single and compact vibration reducer housing. The use of the single vibration reducer housing facilitates the use of the second concept which is that of permitting the entire bearing to rotate freely about an axis perpendicular to the shaft by trunnion mounting the vibration reducer.

TL;DR: In this article, a grid-like flow straightening means, a pressure reducer in the form of a perforated plate, and a separator for separating out the liquid.
Abstract: The apparatus includes a grid-like flow straightening means, a pressure reducer in the form of a perforated plate, and a separator for separating out the liquid. A wire mesh screen is also positioned between the pressure reducer plate and separator to provide an equalizing chamber for the steam leaving the plate.

TL;DR: In this article, a preselected plurality of similar gears are stacked together in order to form a gear drive and each gear in turn is mounted within and supported for rotation on separate internal bearing walls which form cavities in each one of a series of stacked plates.
Abstract: Each one of a preselected plurality of similar gears are stacked together in order to form a gear drive and each gear in turn is mounted within and supported for rotation on separate internal bearing walls which form cavities in each one of a series of stacked plates in order to provide a small, high torque gear reduction unit.
