TL;DR: In this article, a pneumatically powered nut runner has an axial swivel interposed the housings of the air motor and gear reducer, which permits radial repositioning of the reducer housing relative to the air motors housing.
Abstract: The invention relates to a pneumatically powered nut runner having an axial swivel interposed the housings of the air motor and gear reducer which permits radial repositioning of the gear reducer housing relative to the air motor housing. A torque reaction bar is affixed to the gear reducer housing and is thus also radially repositionable relative to the air motor housing. This repositioning capability facilitates adjustment of the reaction bar so that it contacts a bracing point without necessitating the radial repositioning of the air motor housing. When torque is applied to a fastener, nearly all reaction torque is taken by the torque bar and none is transmitted to the operator.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sump motor is mounted in a section of pipe and a piece of pipe of the smaller size extends inwardly of the reducer to a location in juxtaposition to the pump impeller.
Abstract: A sump motor is mounted in a section of pipe. The motor is a standard motor having special caps at each end of the motor shell and with the shell forming a waterproof enclosure. The caps have radially extending spacers extending out to the pipe. At each end of the pipe are reducers, the internal diameter of the small ends of which correspond to the external diameter of another, smaller standard pipe size. At the bottom a piece of pipe of the smaller size extends inwardly of the reducer to a location in juxtaposition to the pump impeller. Various connections and mounting arrangements may be made using standard sizes of pipe. In one embodiment the pump is mounted on a vertical track and positioned above a sump. When the water rises to a level in the sump at which pumping should commence, the motor is energized and the pump is lowered along the track into the sump.

TL;DR: In this article, an air-powered tool for applying torque to threaded fasteners and the like is described, which comprises a motor, a gear reducer and a driver whereby the motor turns at a higher rate than the driver.
Abstract: There is disclosed an air powered tool for applying torque to threaded fasteners and the like. The tool comprises a motor, a gear reducer and a driver whereby the motor turns at a higher rate than the driver. In order to provide better resolution of angle sensings, an angle sensor is arranged to determine rotation of the motor rather than of the driver. Because the fastener, driver, gear reducer and motor tend to torque up thereby producing an exaggerated reading for the angle of advance of the fastener, means are provided to compensate for the rotation sensing as a function of applied torque.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mounting base for supporting a standard footed motor in driving relationship on a C-faced reducer of a gear motor to enable it to be driven by the footed motors without requiring the use of a different interface adapter is presented.
Abstract: A mounting base for supporting a standard footed motor in driving relationship on a C-faced reducer of a gear motor to enable it to be driven by the footed motor without requiring the use of a different interface adapter. The motor mounting base is characterized by having two orthogonally disposed walls one of which has a planar surface adapted for engagement with the C-faced reducer, while the other wall has a planar surface for supporting a footed motor. The planar surfaces are machined to be essentially perpendicular and are further characterized by having sets of apertures through their associated walls for receiving mounting bolts to secure, respectively, the mounting base in operating position on the C-faced reducer and the base to a footed motor. The sets of apertures are shaped to afford clearance fits with the securing bolts to enable the footed motor to be accurately aligned with the driven shaft of the gear motor, and to support the footed motor in such an accurately aligned position relative to the gear motor so that a flexible shaft coupling need not be used between the two shafts.

Abstract: A vacuum reducer valve is used in the distributor vacuum advance circuit in conjunction with an engine overheat detection three way valve which normally applies spark port vacuum to the distributor vacuum advance actuator. When the engine overheats, the spark port signal is blocked and manifold vacuum is applied to the distributor vacuum actuator. The manifold vacuum, however, averages three to four inches of mercury vacuum higher than the spark port vacuum thereby necessitating the use of a vacuum reducer valve in series with the manifold vacuum line to the distributor to avoid excessive spark advance.
