Abstract: A portable drive unit for a valve actuator includes a portable two-cycle or four-cycle gasoline engine and a gear reducer. The gasoline engine is bolted, through vibration damper means, to the housing or gear box of the gear reducer. The gear box is clamped to the valve actuator through an annular clamp and clamp-receiving adapter structure which also includes vibration damper means. A flexible sleeve coupling in the bore of the annular clamp and clamp-receiving adapter couples the output shaft of the gear reducer to the handwheel input shaft of the valve actuator.

Abstract: It is an eddy current speed reducer whose stator comprises a ring of coils 2 having their axes parallel to the axes of the speed reducer and whose rotor comprises two discs 3 framing the stator. The support for the coils is formed by a non-magnetic closed annular housing 9 containing the windings 6 of these coils and formed from two half-shells clamped axially one against the other by screwing flared pole pieces 7 on the cores 5 of the coils, these cores passing jointingly through openings 11 in the housing. A preferred application is to speed reducers developing relatively low braking torques.

The flywheel includes a toothed gear portion in mesh with an additional gear on the input shaft whereby the flywheel is rotated in response to rotation of the input shaft. The flywheel toothed gear portion and additional gear on the input shaft are of relative sizes such that the flywheel is rotated at a higher angular velocity than the input shaft.

Abstract: The insufflation on apparatus is for free-flowing media, particularly carbon dioxide gas, into human or animal bodies, having a intermediate receiver connected to a supply of gas under pressure via a pressure reducer. The gas passes from the receiver via a second pressure reducer and a first branch pipe with a throttle limiting flow to 11/min at maximum pressure, and also via a second branch pipe with a bypass valve allowing the flow to be increased many times, at a pressure limited to tht of the venous abdominal pressure, to an insufflation instrument. The bypass valve (26) has an actuator (30) opening and shutting it automatically, and operated by a switch or pushbutton (34). The actuator also has a preselector switch (32), by which the desired quantity of the gas can be set.

Abstract: A controlled start speed reducer in which input and output shafts are axially aligned with one another in an outer housing and an inner housing is journaled in the outer housing coaxially with said shafts. A relatively small bearing is used between said inner and outer housings at one end and a relatively large bearing is disposed between said inner and outer housings at the other end. The inner housing contains a plurality of counter shafts with gears thereon connecting a pinion on the input shaft with a gear on the output shaft to transmit the torque between the two shafts. A disc brake is rigidly connected to the inner housing and rotates therewith, and a caliper head or other suitable element restrains the rotation of the disc to control the starting operation of the reducer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect chip damage easily and positively by adopting a vibration detector which picks up abnormal vibration produced when some chips on a milling cutter are damaged during operation. CONSTITUTION:A vibration detector 9 mounted on a main spindle head of a motor 2 detects abnomal vibration due to damaged chips on a milling cutter B. Output of the vibration detector 9 is transfered through an A-D transformer 10 to a memory 12 which is used to memorize vibrations. Number of vibrations per unit time is memorized in the memory 12 and its increase is detected by a reducer 13. Output from the reducer is transfered to a comparator 14, and is transfered to an abnormal discriminating gate 17 if abnormality exists.

Abstract: In mechanical apparatus for reducing angular speed, commonly known as speed reducers, its is known as a planetary type reducer with a very high reduction ratio; in the order of 1000:1 and higher, It has concentric input and output shafts, on each of which is fixed a sun cogwheel; there is a third sun cogwheel, also on the main axis, which is fixed to the frame. Each sun cogwheel is connected to a planet cogwheel with a cog belt to form a planetary set, The three planet cogwheels are fast on a common shaft which rotates about its own axis and also about the axis of the input and output shafts; as the planets spin, they are drawn about their respective suns and the teeth on the planet wheels describe an epicyclic path, The speed reduction ratio is dependent mainly on the difference in the relative sizes of the output sun wheel and the sun wheel fixed to the main frame; when there is zero difference the reduction ratio is infinite, Chains and sprocket wheels can be used in place of cog belts and cogwheels in applications where maximum output torque is required.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable high compressive load and low sliding velocity test to be made possible at an arbitrary temperature and in atmosphere by providing a drive device which slides a sample support base through the vessel wall. CONSTITUTION:A push-pull rod 4 for sliding the sample is held connected to a load gauge 5 for direct detection of tensile and compressive loads. A push rod 6 identical to the push-pull rod 4 is linearly fixed to the opposite side of the load gauge 5. A feed screw rod 8 is being revolved as the speed of a drive motor 9 is reduced by way of three kinds of speed reducers 12, 11 10 and as the screw bar revolves, a screw fitting 7 is fed to the right and left directions or right direction. The feed speed may be changed by additionally assembling a gear head to the speed reducer 12.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform favorable steam temperature controls by making primary superheater temperature reducer outlet port steam temperature signals into precedent signals for steam temperature controls in a miscible burning type boiler. CONSTITUTION:Outputs of a load setter 14 makes arithmetic operations of primary superheater temperature reducer outlet steam temperature setting miscible burning ratio setter 15 are added with said set signals with use of an adder 17, which makes it obtainable target values of a primary superheater temperature reducer outlet port steam temperature detector which has been compensated by miscible burning ratio. The target values are brought in comparison with outputs of the primary superheater temperature reducer outlet steam temperature detector 9 with use of a primary superheater temperature reducer outlet steam temperature controller, which makes it possible to obtain precedent signals. Addition of the precendent signals together with temperature control outputs obtained out of a main steam temperature controller 8 is made by an adder 10, which additional outputs control the opening degree of a water infusing valve 4.

CONSTITUTION:By means of setting to a suitable ratio the cross section areas of a primary fixed reducer 4 and a secondary fixed reducer 5 with respect to the pressures of a high pressure source 1 and a low pressure source 2, the pressure in a stabilized chamber 3 can be made at a constant value. Under this condition, with a variable reducer 7 opened, in a variable pressure chamber 6 is obtained a pressure determined by the ratio, between each cross section area of the variable reducer 7 and the variable chamber secondary fixed reducer 8, and the pressures of the high pressure source 1 and the constant pressure chamber 3, and in the variable pressure chamber 6 is obtained a variable pressure in accordance with a cross section area of the variable reducer 7.

The output shafts 101, 111, 122, 131 of the steering unit 13 are coupled to the transmission mechanisms B1, B2, B3. A lever 14 of the shifting mechanism F for shifting the steering operation of the steering unit 13 is connected to a shifting shaft 20 through a shaft 16. The rotation of the steering wheel 1 is transmitted to the running wheels through the input shaft 12, a shaft 33 and the transmission mechanisms B1, B2, B3, B4. The running wheels 109, 121, 129, 141 are turned so that the vehicle can move obliquely. The stability of the motion of the vehicle is raised.

Abstract: A housing which can be employed equally for air service units such as a water separator, a pressure regulating valve and a filter/pressure reducer, includes a body member in the form of a cube having perpendicularly related first, second and third opposing sidewalls, the body member having a flow passage with an inlet and outlet thereof disposed co-axially and being respectively located in the first opposing sidewalls. A receiving chamber and valve seat are located in the path of the flow passage, and the bottom member has a bore for guiding the valve body of the pressure regulating valve or of the filter/pressure reducer for controlling flow through the passage as the valve body engages the valve seat. A bayonet connection union is located on one of the second opposing sidewalls for interconnection with a collector bowl of the water separator or of the filter/pressure reducer or for interconnection with a closure lid of the pressure regulating valve. A screw connection union is located on the other of the second opposing sidewalls for interconnection with a compression spring member of the pressure regulating valve or of the filter/pressure reducer or for connection with a cover cap of the water separator. A snap connection member is located on the one of the second opposing sidewalls adjacent the receiving chamber for interconnection with a bell element containing a filter of the water separator or of the filter/pressure reducer, and a guide cylinder is located on the other of the second opposing sidewalls for the sliding reception of a spring plate in engagement with the valve body of the water separator or of the filter/pressure reducer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a steel pipe material for a stretch reducer prevented from breaking at and near a welded part by giving a proper balance between strengthes of a mother pipe and a joint. CONSTITUTION:For the continuous manufacturing of a small-diameter pipe by a stretch reducer, the strength rate of a welded joint part to a mother material part in a high temperature of 800-900 degrees C in a pipe material previously prolonged by welding is taken in 1.00-1.30. Material A steel is given by connecting carbon steel pipes by friction pressure welding, and is processed by stretch reducing after external beads are cut off. In this case, since the mother pipe and the joint part are given an essentially equal quality, the strength of the pipe joint is almost equal to that of the mother pipe in a high temperature of 800-900 degrees C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To control the quantity of an introduced reducer and enable economic disposal of waste water, by detecting the quantity of polyvalent metal ions in the waste water in terms of the light absorption line of the ions. CONSTITUTION:The waste water containing the polyvalent metal ions such as sexivalent chromium ions is conducted to an adjusting vessel 1, into which an acid is introduced from an acid vessel 5 to adjust the concentration of hydrogen ions of the waste water. The waste water is then supplied to a reducing vessel 18 and mixed with a reducer such as sodium bisulfite from a storage vessel 6. The reducing vessel 18 is provided with a bypass. Light is transmitted from a light source 14 to a measuring unit 13. The quantity of the light which penetrates a filter 12 set at the wavelength of the absorption line of the metal ions is measured by a photomultiplier 11. A chemical agent pump 9 is controlled by the output of the photomultiplier 11 to accurately and quickly regulate the quantity of the introduced reducer to prevent the excessive introduction thereof.

A lever 14 of the shifting mechanism F for shifting the steering operation of the steering unit 13 is coupled to a shifting shaft 20 through a shaft 16. The rotation of the steering wheel 1 is transmitted to the running wheels through the input shafts 12, 33 and the transmission mechanisms B1, B2, B3. The running wheels 109, 121, 129 are locked up from turning so that the vehicle can move sidewards or obliquely.
