Abstract: A drag reducer adapted to be mounted on the rear face of a land vehicle. It is characterized by a large piece of flexible material adapted to be tightly fixed around the periphery of the rear surface adjacent the lateral faces of the truck. The piece of material has an area larger than the rear face of the truck so as to display a convex surface when fully extended. The drag reducer has one and preferably two openings located adjacent the periphery of the rear face of the truck and a tubular extends from each of the said opening in a direction towards the front of the truck so that upon forward movement of the truck, air is automatically introduced in said tubular members and projected between the rear face of the truck and automatically forming a plano-convex air bag which reduces the drag behind the truck.

Abstract: A multipurpose reducer vacuum for vacuuming leaf, garden and lawn debris which uses circular grate bars and free swinging hammers to comminute the debris. The reducer vacuum mounts to the rear bumper of a pickup truck. An adjustable discharge chute is used to direct the comminuted debris into the bed of the pickup truck. A wood chipper is provided on the back side of the apparatus for chipping small limb and branches. An alternate configuration adds an intake hopper which uses a baffle plate in cooperation with cutting bars to pull small limbs, branches and saplings into the reducer vacuum. Feed rates up to one foot per second can be achieved.

Abstract: A servoactuator for a vehicle throttle having a direct current motor driving a speed reducer with the output thereof connected to slidably move a fulcrum member having a lever arm pivoted thereon. The lever arm has a cable to the engine throttle connected to one end and a cable to the vehicle accelerator pedal connected to the other end on the opposite side of the pivot. In one embodiment the speed reducer drives an axial lead screw threaded in the fulcrum member. In a second embodiment the speed reducer output is a slotted crank arm having a pin on the fulcrum member slidably received therein. In a third embodiment the speed reducer output is connected by a two-bar linkage to the fulcrum member. A potentiometer is disposed to have the movable element thereof moved by one end of the lever to provide a throttle position feedback signal for use by an external motor control signal generator. The servoactuator is intended for use with a vehicle traction control system.

Abstract: Portable manually-controlled pipe-bending machine designed for operation at three different speeds, consisting of a boxlike main body, which in its simplest form contains two gear assemblies i.e.: a speed reducer with cooperating gears mounted on three parallel axes, corresponding to three different speeds which are obtained by fitting a conventional handle or any other appropriate structure into a socket driving a gear shaft, and thus making the reduction gear rotate at the desired speed; and a transmission mechanism which is connected with the output gear of the speed reducer and which transmits to a gear train up to the final gear to turn the main driving shaft integral with it and mounting the bending member or matrix. The machine is provided with an auxiliary device performing an intermediary function, which is either separate from the machine and can be connected with one of the three sockets of the speed reducer or is built in the main body, the friction coupling function of this auxiliary device being to allow the engagement/disengagement of the transmission mechanism.

It is advantageous that the paper feeder can be made economical and compact since there is no need to provide an exclusive motive power source having a speed reducer. Furthermore, a contact pressure between the paper feeding roller and the paper is stabilized to enhance the accuracy of the paper feeding.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent an excessive force from being exerted on machineries, when the vibration in a main vibration system is fed back to the control device for an active system dynamic vibration reducer, by reducing the feedback gain in response to the increase in amplitude of an added mass. CONSTITUTION: After detected by an acceleration sensor 14, the vibration of a main vibration system 10 is fed back to a damping controller 18, and a control signal is output, via a multiplier 40 and a displacement controller 20, to a servo valve 22, a hydraulic cylinder 24, and an auxiliary vibration system (added mass) 12 constituting an active system dynamic vibration reducer, so as to damp the vibration. In this case, the amplitude of the added mass 12 is detected by a displacement sensor 26, and a given value C1 is subtracted from the absolute value of the amplitude calculated by a computing element 28, and further thereto a given value C2 is added via a limiter 32, and a smoothing circuit 34, and the feedback gain in the multiplier 40 is decreased by a reciprocal computing element 38 in response to the increase in amplitude of the added mass 12. While this dynamic vibration reducer 6 is provided in the peripheral part of the floor 4a. ln this way, periodic vibratory excitation force from a guide rail 2 is effectively absorbed by the dynamic vibration reducer 6 with a large effect of reducing transverse oscillation in the peripheral part of the floor 4a. CONSTITUTION:A main body of a content which is constituted of an iron core 1 and a winding 2 wound round the iron core 1 is stored in a tank 3 together with insulating gas 4. Inside the tank 3, a differential pressure is formed between an entrance and exit of the insulating gas 4 and the main body of the content and the inner face of the tank 3 are separated up and down by a partition board 8 to cause the insulating gas to flow compulsorily into the iron core 1 and the winding 2. A gas cooler 5 is connected to the outside of the tank 3 through a gas blower 6. In connecting the tank 3 and a lower cooling pipe 10 which connects the gas cooler 5 and a lower part of the tank 3, a reducer is connected to the lower cooling pipe 10 to increase the diameter of the pipe gradually.
