Abstract: A drive apparatus includes an electric motor, a speed reducer and a coupling member located between the motor and the speed reducer. The output shaft of the motor and the input shaft of the speed reducer are provided with longitudinally extending grooves having a square or rectangular cross section in which barrel members having the mating cross section are inserted, respectively to absorb any gap therebetween. The box like barrel member has four segments which are brought into resilient contact with the groove.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for providing relevance-enhanced image reduction in computer systems. Using such a method and system, information including images can be displayed in a display area that is smaller than the display area for which the information was designed while accurately conveying the overall content of the information. A computer system in which the present invention operates includes a computer connected to a display device and a secondary storage device. A reducer is stored in the secondary storage device for execution by the computer. Additionally, data regarding an image to be displayed on the display device is stored in the secondary storage device. In operation, the computer receives data regarding an image to be displayed from the secondary storage device. The reducer reduces the image by first cropping the image and then scaling the image. Lastly, the computer displays the reduced image on the display device. In order to reduce the image, the reducer initially determines a total reduction factor by which the image is to be reduced. The reducer then determines a center of relevance of the image. Next, the reducer determines a cropping reduction factor by which the image is to be cropped and crops the image around the center of relevance by the cropping reduction factor. Lastly, the reducer determines a scaling reduction factor by which the cropped image is to be scaled and scales the cropped image by the scaling reduction factor.

Abstract: A method for assembling a double enveloping speed reducer assembly includes predetermining the thickness of the shims required to properly position a worm assembly and a worm gear assembly in the speed reducer such that the double enveloping worm spiral and the worm gear mesh at their centers of curvature. By predetermining the thickness of the shims, the speed reducer can be assembled without guesswork. The shim thicknesses are determined, in part, by determining the distance the center of curvature of both the worm spiral and the worm gear to preselected surfaces of the worm assembly and worm gear assembly. The method also includes placing the speed reducer housing and at least one of the bearing brackets for both the worm assembly and the worm gear assembly in gauges to determine various dimensions of the housing and brackets. The measured dimensions are then used to calculate the appropriate shim thicknesses, the shims are placed adjacent a surface of the brackets, and the speed reducer is assembled. A gear gauge is provided for locating the center of curvature of the worm spiral and worm gear.

Abstract: A tubing friction reducer is mounted on a length of tubing within a bore hole. The friction reducer includes a cylindrical body having a first section and a second section hingedly secured around an exterior surface of the coiled tubing, the cylindrical body having an outside diameter larger than an outside diameter of the coiled tubing and less than an inside diameter of an adjacent bore surface. A plurality of roller bearings positioned on and extending outwardly from the cylindrical body extending in a generally axial direction along the cylindrical body for the purpose of reducing friction between the coiled tubing and the bore surface generated upon contact between the coiled tubing and the bore surface. Retaining mechanisms such as collapsible springs are included for securing the roller bearings to the cylindrical body. The tubing friction reducers are placed along the tubing at intervals to either minimize injector force, prevent buckling, and tubing failure, due to buckling or wear.

By fastening the reducer system to the exterior of the cannula end, the system can be placed in position on the cannula prior to surgery, even while a large diameter obturator is used with the cannula.

Abstract: A motor with a gear reducer includes a housing, a stator secured to the housing and having an inner periphery thereof defining a central space therein, and a rotor formed of a magnet material and rotatably fitted in the central space of the stator. The rotor has an axial through hole formed therein in coaxial relation to an axis of rotation of the rotor. An output shaft is connected through a gear reducer to the rotor to be rotatively driven thereby, for outputting a rotating output from the rotor through the gear reducer. The output shaft extends through the axial through hole of the rotor and is rotatably supported by opposite ends of the housing. The rotor has a gear forming part of the gear reducer formed thereon at one end thereof, and a hook formed thereon at another end thereof and engageable with a moving device such as an assembly jig in an axial direction of the output shaft.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an exercise, rehabilitation and extremity testing method and apparatus having a cycloidal speed reducer. A multiposition chair is rotatably mounted to a stand which is slidingly mounted to a track on a platform. A dynamometer is mounted on a pedestal on the platform such that it is capable of rotating about a horizontal axis and a vertical axis. The vertical height of the dynamometer can also be adjusted. An input apparatus capable of engaging the limb or body segment of a user is mounted to an input shaft of the dynamometer. A motor controls the movement of the input shaft through a cycloidal speed reducer. Consequently, the motor controls the movement of the input arm and the user's limb or body segment. The user exercises his muscles by applying force to the input apparatus according to a number of different protocols.

A speed reduction case encloses at least a part of the speed reducer and includes a thrust receiving portion facing the end face of the motor shaft. An end spacer is disposed between the thrust receiving portion of the speed reduction case and the end face of the motor shaft. The end spacer includes a press-fitting portion secured at the thrust receiving portion of the speed reduction case to prevent the end spacer from rotating relative to the speed reduction case. The end spacer also includes a protrusion. A thrust force applied to the motor shaft presses the end face of the motor shaft to the protrusion of the end spacer to brake the rotation of the motor shaft by friction.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain an agent intended to suppress the bleeding and secure the fluidity of a mixture of soil and a curing agent, by blending water-glass with a water reducing agent for cement. CONSTITUTION: This bleeding reducer for cement-based grouting materials is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of water-glass with 1-20 pts.wt. of an active ingredient, i.e., a water reducing agent for cement. An aqueous solution containing 0.2-10 pts.wt. of this bleeding reducer is added to 100 pts.wt. of cement followed by addition of sand and clay, and the resultant mixture is kneaded under agitation in a mixer to prepare a blend slurry, which is, in turn, injected into the ground by high-pressure injection method to stabilize the ground.

Because the planetary wheel has two segments of gear teeth, the numbers of the gear teeth of the central gear and the gear teeth of the output tooth shaft is different with each other, so the ratio speed is large, and additionally, a plurality of planetary wheels are driven simultaneously, so the specific pressure of a single tooth surface is small and the driving stability is high.

One face of the nutation gear (3) meshes with the stationary gear (2), and the other face meshes with the bevel teeth on the gear shaft (4). Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply lubricating oil for lubrication of a speed reducer to an inward bearing chamber by drilling a first oil passage to communicate a speed reducer storage chamber to the inward bearing chamber on a spindle member. SOLUTION: Lubricating oil sealed in a speed reducer storage chamber 66 is directly supplied to an outer hub bearing 30 in the inside of a front bearing chamber 78 communicated to the speed reducer storage chamber 66. Additionally, a part of lubricating oil in the speed reducer storage chamber 66 flows to a clearance between an outer peripheral surface of a wheel drive shaft or a constant velocity coupler output shaft 14 and an inner peripheral surface of a spindle member 20 or to the inside of a passage 24, and it is supplied to an inner hub bearing 32 from a first oil passage 82. Lubricating oil lubricating the inner hub bearing 32 is circulated to the speed reducer storage chamber 66 through a second oil passage 84 in the inside of a wheel hub 34. That is, as the first oil passage 82 is opened to one end side of a roller axis of the inner hub bearing 32, lubricating oil flows in a roller raw by centrifugal force and carries out lubrication.

Abstract: Drag reducer additives (DRA) to increase pipeline capacities have been used extensively on the Oseberg Field in the North Sea since 1991. This paper describes different tests that have been performed to find the best and most cost-effective drag reducing chemical. The tests have been carried out in the 75 mile 28 in. crude oil pipeline from Oseberg Field Center to Sture on the Nonvegian coast, and in the 9.5 mile 14 in. multiphase pipeline carrying full wellstream fluid from Oseberg C to Oseberg Field Center. Both conventional gel-type DRA, and a new generation type additive have been used. The new generation DRA is an emulsified powder-product with a polymer content of about 20-25%, as compared 10 conventional gel-type product with a polymer content of about 5-8%. This new type turns out to be about four times more efficient than conventional gel-type DRA, and gives a cost-saving of about 25% compared to conventional type products. This paper also describes a method to measure drag efficiency as a function of linefill, and shows the relationship between injection rate of DRA and wax-deposits in a pipeline. Use of drag reducing chemical has increased capacity of the Oseberg Transportation System (OTS) by 25% from 620,000 bopd to 770,000 bopd. While use of conventional DRA had no effect on capacity of the multiphase pipeline (MTS), test results using the new generation DRA have shown a reduced pressure loss in the line of about 50%, corresponding to about 10% capacity increase.

The compact block includes a coupling (73) and non-return valve (74) so that coupling devices (101-104) can fill as adapted to the coupling. The block passes signals relating to the gas in-bottle pressure to a control or alarm point.

A worm W is formed on the circumference of a projected free end of a motor spindle 7 and the bearings for the motor spindle 7 are mounted in a motor case flange 9. The open face of the speed reducer is covered with the flange 9 and the reducer case and the flange 9 are firmly clamped by bolts, thus releasably coupling the motor to the speed reducer.

CONSTITUTION: A partition plate 63 constitutes a housing 60 with an outside case 61 of the standard specification and an inside case 62 of the standard specification. On one face of the partition plate 63 which faces the inside case 62, a stator mounting section 73a and an extended section 73d are integrally formed. On the other face of the partition plate 63 which faces the outside case 61, an extended section 73b, a partition wall 73c, and a recess for a bearing 21 are integrally formed. An amount of extension of the extended section 73d can be varied according to an increase in the thickness of a stator 7 and is set larger than that of the standard specification. An amount of extension of the extended section 73b and of the partition wall 73c can also be varied according to an increase in the thickness of gears 5a, 5b, 5c, and 5d and is set larger than that of the standard specification.

Abstract: This paper describes the development of noise-reduction technology and addresses its applications. First-generation noise reducers using linear filtering techniques such as recursive or transversal filters were designed for removing film grain noise or tape noise of analog VTRs. With the introduction of nonlinear median filtering techniques it became possible to conceal impulse-type noise such as film dust, randomly dispersed film scratches, or FM sparkles. A third-generation noise reducer now has been developed by BTS. The gear speed reduction mechanism and the output shaft are also provided with thrust bearings. A pressure adjustment mechanism is sheathed on the input shaft which rotates at a high speed. The telescopic film of the pressure adjustment mechanism is deformed according to the temperature of lubricating oil. A base with an installation hole is arranged at the bottom of the barrel shape shell body. The protective ring of an end cover is provided with an installation hole. Mechanical sealing devices are respectively arranged between the input shaft and the output shaft are respectively, and the base and the end cover.
