19 Jul 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus to provide triple modular redundancy (TMR) in one mode of operation, while providing multiple context selection during a second mode of operations is presented.
Abstract: A method and apparatus to provide triple modular redundancy (TMR) in one mode of operation, while providing multiple context selection during a second mode of operation. Intelligent voting circuitry facilitates both modes of operation, while further enhancing the robustness of the design when used in a TMR mode of operation. Various addressing schemes are provided, which allow dual use of the configuration data lines as selection signals using one addressing scheme, while allowing for dual use of the configuration address lines as selection signals using the second addressing scheme.

TL;DR: In this article, a system for presenting media programming guides is described, which may include a media receiver having a controller element to generate a Media Program Guide (MPG) that groups media programs according to a redundancy of media programs and a viewing history of a subscriber.
Abstract: A system for presenting media programming guides is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media receiver having a controller element to generate a Media Program Guide (MPG) that groups media programs according to a redundancy of media programs and a viewing history of a subscriber of the media receiver. Other embodiments are disclosed.

TL;DR: In this article, a modeling method of these control laws for manufacturing system is proposed, which consists in managing the disturbances of the drifts type of quality of the product, and a methodology of construction of a robust control system generating the margins of passive and active robustness is elaborated.
Abstract: This paper proposes a modeling method of these control laws for manufacturing system. The robustness for these categories of system is discussed. Our approach consists in managing the disturbances of the drifts type of quality of the product. The Intervals Constrained Petri Net (ICPN) are used for the modeling of the no temporal constraints. A methodology of construction of a robust control system generating the margins of passive and active robustness is elaborated. The redundancy of the robustness of the elementary parameters between passive and active leads us to define the ways ensuring the total robustness of the system.

TL;DR: The results show that high diagnostic rate can improve the reliability, availability and safety of the system.
Abstract: This paper presents the stochastic Petri net (SPN) model of the hybrid redundancy system. The capacity of fault detection is taken into account in the model. Besides, the method to perform reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) analysis has been proposed based on the isomorphic Markov chain of the SPN model. The presented methodology is demonstrated by a case study of the output subsystem of the subsea blowout preventer. RAMS analysis of the presented case is conducted and the effects of the diagnostic rate and repair rate on the performance are studied. The results show that high diagnostic rate can improve the reliability, availability and safety of the system.
