TL;DR: In this paper, the optimum angle of a flat plate reflector and the optimum orientation of a vertical multiple-effect diffusion solar still coupled with a flatplate reflector throughout the year are numerically determined with the assumption that the still is located at the equator and at 10°, 20°, 30° and 40° northern latitude.

TL;DR: A reflective type liquid crystal display of this invention comprises a reflector member having corrugated surface stored therein, an overcoat layer formed on the corrugation surface of the reflector, and a color filter layer forming on the over-coat layer as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A reflective type liquid crystal display of this invention comprises a reflector member having corrugated surface stored therein; an overcoat layer formed on the corrugated surface of the reflector member for making the corrugated surface flat; and a color filter layer formed on the overcoat layer, and wherein a thickness of the overcoat layer is more than twice of a depth of the concave part in the corrugated surface of the reflector member.

TL;DR: In this article, an air-spring height control device based on an infrared light emitting diode and photo transistor receiver was proposed to reflect a signal from a reflector located internally to an airspring, where the variable output signal given off by the receiver is proportional to the distance from the transmitter/receiver to the reflector.
Abstract: An airspring height control device is disclosed based on an infrared light emitting diode (212) and photo transistor receiver (214) combination to reflect a signal from a reflector (216) located internally to an airspring (200). The variable output signal given off by the receiver is proportional to the distance from the transmitter/ receiver to the reflector thus allowing a height controlling mechanism to respond to the signal and make the necessary adjustments.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sense-through-obstruction radar system consisting of an antenna assembly that includes a horn antenna and a reflector configured to reflect radio frequency (RF) energy to/from the horn antenna is presented.
Abstract: A standoff range, sense-through-obstruction radar system is capable of detecting micro-Doppler, or life form signatures, and movements through obstructions at stand-off ranges and displaying the target information over a live video feed of the area under surveillance. The sense-through-obstruction radar system comprises an antenna assembly that includes a horn antenna and a reflector configured to reflect radio frequency (RF) energy to/from the horn antenna. An antenna pointing assembly supports the antenna assembly. The antenna pointing assembly is configured to move the antenna assembly to point the antenna assembly toward an obstruction. A sensor assembly is mounted to the antenna assembly so that the sensor assembly is aligned with the RF beam formed from the RF energy reflected from the reflector to the horn antenna. The sensor assembly is configured to detect the location of the obstruction and to provide information to assist pointing of the antenna assembly toward the obstruction.

TL;DR: A novel air-bridge subwavelength grating reflector with very high reflectivity to be used as a top mirror in a VCSEL structure and the fabrication of the suspended grating is described.
Abstract: We present a novel air-bridge subwavelength grating reflector with very high reflectivity be used as a top mirror in a VCSEL structure. We explain the design method, model the structure using both RCWA and FDTD, and predict the characteristics of a Fabry-Perot structure built with this reflector. We describe the fabrication of the suspended grating.
