TL;DR: In this paper, the primary concentrator is positioned to receive energy from the moving energy source and to direct the energy toward the secondary reflector, which is covered by a number of convex reflecting surfaces.
Abstract: A device efficiently collects energy from a moving source without having to actively track the source. The device includes a primary concentrator, a secondary reflector and a target position. The primary concentrator is positioned to receive energy from the moving energy source and to direct the energy toward the secondary reflector. The secondary reflector has a concave surface which is covered by a number of convex reflecting surfaces. These convex reflecting surfaces direct the energy toward the target position regardless of the relative angle between the energy source and the primary concentrator.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of the acoustic reflector is determined by its reflectivity for a longitudinal wave existing in the BAW resonator at the resonance frequency of the baw resonator.
Abstract: A BAW resonator includes a piezoelectric layer, a first electrode, a second electrode, a substrate, and an acoustic reflector disposed between the substrate and the second electrode The acoustic reflector has a plurality of layers A performance of the acoustic reflector is determined by its reflectivity for a longitudinal wave existing in the BAW resonator at the resonance frequency of the BAW resonator and by its reflectivity for a shear wave existing in the BAW resonator at the resonance frequency of the BAW resonator The layers of the acoustic reflector and layers disposed between the acoustic reflector and the piezoelectric layer are selected, with reference to their number, material, and thickness, such that the transmissivity for the longitudinal wave and the transmissivity for the shear wave in the area of the resonance frequency is smaller than −10 dB

TL;DR: In this article, a fast wavelength-tunable transmitter based on a widely tunable grating-assisted co-directional coupler with sampled grating reflector laser diode for optical packet switching application was demonstrated.
Abstract: This letter demonstrates a fast wavelength-tunable transmitter, based on a widely tunable grating-assisted co-directional coupler with sampled grating reflector laser diode for optical packet switching application. A high-speed control driver board was built to facilitate the fast wavelength channel selection and control. It supported 100 wavelength channels spaced by 0.4 nm with a side-mode suppression ratio >30 dB. Wavelength channel switching was measured to be within 100 ns.

TL;DR: In this article, a cylindrical or trough-like radiant energy concentration and collection device is provided, which includes an energy absorber, a glazing enveloping the absorber and a reflective wall.
Abstract: A cylindrical or trough-like radiant energy concentration and collection device is provided. The device includes an energy absorber, a glazing enveloping the absorber and a reflective wall. The ideal contour of the reflective wall is determined with reference to a virtual absorber and not the actual absorber cross section.

24 Feb 1976TL;DR: In this paper, a liquid crystal display device for the colored display of information with a reflector and a twisted nematic liquid crystal cell placed between a linear and a selective polarizer is disclosed.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device for the colored display of information with a reflector and a twisted nematic liquid crystal cell placed between a linear and a selective polarizer is disclosed. The selective polarizer is disposed in front of the twisted nematic liquid crystal cell and the linear polarizer is disposed between the twisted nematic liquid crystal cell and the reflector.
