TL;DR: In this article, the phase comparator of an online active unit generates a signal to control the oscillator to maintain its output in phase with the incoming signal, which is also connected to capacitor storage in associated channel phase comparators.
Abstract: A phase comparator is included with each incoming channel to compare the clock phase of the incoming signal and a local oscillator. The phase comparator of an on-line active unit generates a signal to control the oscillator to maintain its output in phase with the incoming signal. The generated control signal is also connected to capacitor storage in associated channel phase comparators to provide them with an initial starting control voltage when they are switched in to be the receiving channels. Thus eliminating the uncontrolled operation of the oscillator during switching interval.

TL;DR: A 12.77-MHz low power, RC on-chip relaxation oscillator with self-compensation technique with digital feedback loop implemented to maintain the frequency stability and a replica comparator is added to generate a reference pulse width for the compensation.
Abstract: This paper presents a 12.77-MHz low power, RC on-chip relaxation oscillator with self-compensation technique. A digital feedback loop is implemented to maintain the frequency stability. A replica comparator is added to generate a reference pulse width for the compensation. After compensation, the frequency is tuned by a digitally controlled delay element. The proposed design is fabricated in 0.18-μm CMOS process. The main oscillator consumes 12.8 μW at 0.9-V supply voltage. The whole system consumes 56.2 μW when the digital compensation blocks are enabled. The measured output frequency variation is less than ±0.4% across −30 to 120°C. For a supply range of 0.6 V to 1.1 V, the frequency varies less than 0.5%/V after compensation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the scaling effects of various parameters are explored using 3-D finite-element simulations coupled with SPICE models, and experimental results are obtained from structures fabricated using silicon-on-insulator substrates.
Abstract: Scalability of silicon-based phase-change oscillators is investigated through experimental and computational studies. These relaxation oscillators are composed of a small volume of silicon, dc biased through a load resistor and a capacitor, which melts due to self-heating and resolidifies upon discharge of the load capacitor. These phase changes lead to high-amplitude current spikes with oscillation frequency that scales with supply voltage, RC time constant, power delivery condition, and heating and cooling rates of the wire. Experimental results are obtained from structures fabricated using silicon-on-insulator substrates. Scaling effects of various parameters are explored using 3-D finite-element simulations coupled with SPICE models.

TL;DR: In this paper, an automatically light adjusted luminous indicator observable through a camera view finder includes a photoconductor exposed to the camera incident light and either constitutes or controls the resistance component of a frequency controlling RC network of a relaxation oscillator.
Abstract: An automatically light adjusted luminous indicator observable through a camera view finder includes a photoconductor exposed to the camera incident light and either constitutes or controls the resistance component of a frequency controlling RC network of a relaxation oscillator. The output of the relaxation oscillator controls a bi-stable multivibrator whose output is coupled through a switching transistor to the primary of a transformer whose secondary is connected to a light emitting member such as an electroluminescent device or a light emitting diode. The parameters of the network are adjusted so that the luminosity of the indicator and viewed image are about equal or within any desired ratio range. The photoconductor may also control an exposure control network.
