TL;DR: In this article, an image processing method is performed on a video image that includes an initial frame and a plurality of subsequent frames, where an object is located within the initial frame of the video image and a histogram related to the object is generated.
Abstract: An image processing method can be performed on a video image that includes an initial frame and a plurality of subsequent frames. An object is located within the initial frame of the video image and a histogram related to the object is generated. A foreground map that includes the object is also generated. For each subsequent frame, a mean shift iteration is performed to adjust the location of the object within the current frame. The histogram related to the object and the foreground map can then be updated.

TL;DR: In this article, a moving video data recorder is provided with a decoding part 21 which decodes compressed moving video containing interframe coding frames and generates a video signal for every frame, and an interframe compression part 23 wherein the generated video signal is subjected to inter-frame compression coding, respectively.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a degree of freedom for editing compression moving video data. SOLUTION: A moving video data recorder 20 is provided with a decoding part 21 which decodes compressed moving video data containing interframe coding frames and generates a video signal for every frame, and an interframe compression coding part 23 wherein the generated video signal for every frame is subjected to interframe compression coding, respectively, and compressed moving video data which are composed of interframe coding frame groups are generated in accordance with the compressed moving video data containing the interframe coding frames. As a result, compressed moving video data are edited by extracting an arbitrary frame from generated interframe coding frame groups. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI

TL;DR: The method and apparatus for generating a reference video sequence of images includes performing a grid analysis of each of the frames of the video sequence, assigning a color value to that frame, calculating the difference in total color value between frames in the video sequences, establishing a threshold value for transitions and dropping those frames whose transitions from frame to frame are below the threshold value.
Abstract: The method and apparatus for generating a reference video sequence of images includes performing a grid analysis of each of the frames of the video sequence, assigning a color value to that frame, calculating the difference in total color value between frames in the video sequence, establishing a threshold value for transitions and dropping those frames whose transitions from frame to frame are below the threshold value. The reference video analysis may be performed on a single user system or over a network system including a number of workstations.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for determining a pixel value of a texture pixel associated with a three-dimensional scan of an object is presented, which includes prioritizing a sequence of image frames in a queue based on one or more prioritization parameters.
Abstract: A method for determining a pixel value of a texture pixel associated with a three-dimensional scan of an object includes prioritizing a sequence of image frames in a queue based on one or more prioritization parameters. The method also includes selecting a first image frame from the queue. The method also includes determining a pixel value of the particular texture pixel in the first image frame. The method further includes selecting a second image frame from the queue. The second image frame has a higher priority than the first image frame based on the one or more prioritization parameters. The method also includes modifying the pixel value of the particular texture pixel based on a pixel value of the particular texture pixel in the second image frame to generate a modified pixel value of the particular texture pixel.

TL;DR: In this article, a first timestamp is received that indicates a capture time for a prior video frame and a second timestamp is obtained for a current video frame, and a time difference between the second timestamp and the first timestamp are determined.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for performing rate control for encoding of video frames are provided. A first timestamp is received that indicates a capture time for a prior video frame. A second timestamp is received that indicates a capture time for a current video frame. A time difference between the second timestamp and the first timestamp is determined. An average video data bit encoding rate is multiplied by the determined time difference to calculate a bit budget. An indication of a number of video data bits that have been encoded is received. The number includes a number of encoded video data bits of the prior video frame and of any further video frames encoded subsequent to the prior video frame and prior to the current video frame. A virtual buffer fill level is adjusted based on a difference between the indicated number of video bits that have been encoded and the calculated bit budget. A quantizer parameter is adjusted based on the adjusted virtual buffer fill level. The current video frame is encoded according to the adjusted quantizer parameter.
