TL;DR: In this paper, various techniques for unambiguously determining and tracking frame offset in asynchronous wireless communication user equipment have been described, where the user equipment determines the unambiguous connection frame number of a downlink channel and the equipment then determines frame timing information for neighbor cells.
Abstract: Various techniques are disclosed for unambiguously determining and tracking frame offset in asynchronous wireless communication user equipment. The user equipment determines the unambiguous connection frame number of a downlink channel. The equipment then determines frame timing information for neighbor cells. The frame timing information for the primary common control physical channel and uplink dedicated physical channels is determined. The frame timing is determined as a coarse resolution frame offset in conjunction with a fine resolution chip offset. The frame numbering information for the uplink and downlink dedicated physical channels and the primary common control physical channel is also determined. Then the frame number and timing information is updated using a counter accurate to one chip resolution. The frame offset is updated if the number of chips underflows or overflows a predetermined window. Frame timing may be updated by updating only the fine chip offset or may be completely determined.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and related system of generating a frame of video is disclosed, in which a request is received and a motion search between an object in a subsequent frame and the object in the current frame is performed.
Abstract: A method and related system of generating a frame of video is disclosed. In the method, a request is received. For instance, the request may initiate a video game. A motion search between an object in a subsequent frame of video and the object in a current frame of video is performed. A pre-determined motion vector for the object is selected. The object in the subsequent frame of video may correspond to a set of pre-encoded macro-blocks and the performing the motion search may include searching a corresponding set of macro-blocks associated with the current frame of video. The pre-encoded macro-blocks may be pre-encoded prior to the request. The motion vector may be pre-determined prior to the request.

TL;DR: A visual lossless encoder for processing a video frame prior to compression by a video encoder includes a threshold unit (54), a filter unit, an association unit and an altering unit as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A visual lossless encoder (20) for processing a video frame prior to compression by a video encoder includes a threshold unit (54), a filter unit, an association unit and an altering unit. The threshold unit (54) identifies a plurality of visual perception threshold levels to be associated with the pixels of the video frame, wherein the threshold levels define contrast levels above which a human eye can distinguish a pixel from among its neighboring pixels of the frame. The filter unit divides the video frame into portions having different detail dimensions. The association unit utilizes the threshold levels and the detail dimensions to associate the pixels of the video frame into subclasses. Each subclass includes pixels related to the same detail and which generally cannot be distinguished from each other. The altering unit alters the intensity of each pixel of the video frame according to its subclass.

TL;DR: In this article, a digital video camera is coupled with an image processing station by a tether that has a bandwidth, and the processing station has a memory with a program that executes instructions.
Abstract: A digital video camera is coupled with an image processing station by a tether that has a bandwidth. The processing station has a memory with a program that executes instructions. When application software on the station requests a driver on the station to operate the camera at a specific frame rate, the program determines whether the requested frame rate is higher than permitted by the tether bandwidth. If that is so, the program computes a maximum permitted frame rate and an integration time of the pixels of the camera. The integration time causes the camera to produce output video frames at a rate commensurate with the computed bandwidth constrained frame rate, instead of the requested frame rate. The program then adjusts the gain accordingly.

TL;DR: In this article, a method and Electro-Optical (EO) system for processing imagery comprising selecting a first frame of data as a template frame, capturing a second frame using the EO system, correlating the plurality of pixels of the second frame with pixels from the template frame to generate a plurality of shift vectors.
Abstract: A method and Electro-Optical (EO) system for processing imagery comprising selecting a first frame of data as a template frame; capturing a second frame of data using the EO system, for a plurality of pixels of the second frame, correlating the plurality of pixels of the second frame with pixels of the template frame to generate a plurality of shift vectors, one for each pixel of the plurality of pixels of the second frame, registering the second frame with the template frame by interpolating the second frame using the plurality of shift vectors and re-sampling at least a portion of the second frame to produce a registered frame, re-sampling the template frame, and combining the re-sampled template frame and the registered frame to generate an averaged frame.
