TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a theoretical model suggesting that resource dependency acts as a "filter" in selecting which of the performance measurement systems (PMS) design measures are emphasized for decision making.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the relationship between employee resilience and organizational resilience in Chinese enterprises and found that employee resilience is positively associated with organizational resilience. But, they did not consider the effect of problem-focused and emotion-focused coping.
Abstract: Background: Environmental uncertainty has become the normal surviving and development environment for organizations. Resilience is the key to manage the crisis and abrupt crush, and the relationship between employee resilience and organizational resilience still needs to be explored in Chinese context. The study is to uncover the black box between employee resilience and organizational resilience. Methods: Based on the conservation of resource theory, this study introduced managerial resilience, problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping into the relational mechanism between employee resilience and organizational resilience. The study adopted structural equations, bootstrapping methods, and analyzed 329 multi-point employee–manager matching data as the research basis from high-tech industries, service industries, and traditional manufacturing industries. Results: This study demonstrated that employee resilience is positively associated with organizational resilience; The indirect effects of employee resilience on organizational resilience through problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping were statistically significant;moreover, managerial resilience positively moderated the relation between employee resilience and emotion-focused coping, and it also moderated the indirect effect of employee resilience on organizational resilience through emotion-focused coping. Conclusion: This study adds value to the literature by revealing employee resilience boots problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping, resulting in more or less organizational resilience in the context of Chinese enterprises. It is suggested that in the daily management of the organization, we should pay more attention to cultivate and develop employee resilience to improve organizational resilience.

TL;DR: This study enhances the understanding of the utilities roles of digital platforms and interaction between platform ecosystems and vertical integration and finds that the more platforms a cinema chooses to link with, the higher efficiency the cinema will achieve.
Abstract: Online to offline (O2O) is defined as e-commerce that combines searching and booking products or services online, and consumption in brick-and-mortar stores. Both China and other countries have witnessed the rise of O2O e-commerce platforms in recent years. This paper explores this rapid development from the supply side of O2O e-commerce platforms. Drawing upon the utilities roles of digital platforms and resource dependence theory, we propose and validate hypotheses on the relationships between platform choice and suppliers’ efficiency, using cinemas as an example. The findings support the significant and positive impact of platform choice on cinemas’ efficiency. Furthermore, we find that the more platforms a cinema chooses to link with, the higher efficiency the cinema will achieve. Our empirical results partially support that vertical integration has a negative impact on the relationship between platform choice and suppliers’ efficiency. This study enhances the understanding of the utilities roles of digital platforms and interaction between platform ecosystems and vertical integration.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on the external pressures and constraints which impinge upon the performance of non-profit sport organizations and explain the low performance of sport organizations in terms of the influence of the institutional processes on their internal organizational behavior.
Abstract: The paper focuses on the external pressures and constraints which impinge upon the performance of non-profit sport organizations. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected from 20 Hellenic national sport organizations, which operate in a highly institutionalized context as they are regularly funded and controlled by the state agency for sport. The results demonstrate a restrictive resource dependence on the state, which is accompanied by a lack of performance inducements, poorly defined technical arrangements and state intervention in sport-related activities. The low performance of the sport organizations is explained in terms of the influence of the institutional processes on their internal organizational behaviour.
