TL;DR: In this article, the effects of the moments of the retrial time to the system performance measures such as blocking probability, mean and standard deviation of the number of customers in service facility and orbit are numerically investigated.
Abstract: The effects of the moments of the retrial time to the system performance measures such as blocking probability, mean and standard deviation of the number of customers in service facility and orbit are numerically investigated. The results reveal some performance measures related with the number of customers in orbit can be severely affected by the fourth or higher moments of retrial time.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors consider a single-server retrial queue with event-dependent arrival rates and derive the stationary distribution both at service completion epochs and at an arbitrary epoch.
Abstract: Abstract In this work, we consider a novel single-server retrial queue with event-dependent arrival rates. Contrary to other related works, the primary customers’ arrival rates depend on the last realized event, which refers either to a departure, or to an arrival of either type, or to when a customer arrives during a busy period, compared with others. Our motivation stems from the modeling of service systems, in which the customers express their willingness to join the system based on the last realized event. We investigate the stability conditions, and derive the stationary distribution both at service completion epochs, and at an arbitrary epoch. We also study the asymptotic behaviour under high rate of retrials. Performance measures are explicitly derived, and extensive numerical examples are performed to investigate the impact of event-dependency. Moreover, constrained optimisation problems are formulated and solved with ultimate goal to derive optimal joining probabilities.

TL;DR: A repeated attempt queue with multistages of service and almost J vacations is investigated, and steady results are deduced using supplementary variable technique.
Abstract: A repeated attempt queue with multistages of service and almost J vacations is investigated. Balking (or reneging) is applicable for customers. If the orbit is empty at service accomplishment time, the server takes at most J vacations. Busy server may fail for a short interval of time. Using supplementary variable technique, the steady results are deduced.

TL;DR: A discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue with feedback, balking customers, and general retrial times with Markov chain analysis is considered and some performance measures of the system in steady-state are presented.
Abstract: We consider a discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue with feedback, balking customers, and general retrial times. If a new arriving customer finds the server busy, he may depart immediately from the system or join the orbit. After service completion, the customer decides either to join the orbit for another service or leaves the system completely. We analyze the Markov chain underlying the considered queueing system and present some performance measures of the system in steady-state. Numerical results show how sensitive the system performance measures are when parameters of the system change.
