TL;DR: In this article, a correcting digital filter for a mechanically dithered single-axis ring laser gyro (RLG) is proposed, which is intended to determine the angular position of a strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) in the RLG sensitivity axis using the known value of RLG angular position with respect to inertial space, taking into account the models of suspension elastic forces nonlinearity, the hysteresis model of vibration energy dissipation, and the model of the suspension piezoceramic vibratory drive.
Abstract: A correcting digital filter for a mechanically dithered single-axis ring laser gyro (RLG) is proposed. The filter is intended to determine the angular position of a strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) in the RLG sensitivity axis using the known value of the RLG angular position with respect to inertial space, taking into account the models of the suspension elastic forces nonlinearity, the hysteresis model of vibration energy dissipation, and the model of the suspension piezoceramic vibratory drive. Parameterized models of nonlinearity, dissipation, and the output characteristic of the suspension piezoceramic drive have been developed. A method for finding nonlinearity parameters of elastic forces using a set of experimental amplitudefrequency characteristics (AFC) is proposed. Numerical simulations of the AFCs of an elliptic eliminator and a correcting filter under sinusoidal rotation of the SINS with the amplitude of 1 arcmin in the frequency band of 80–3600 Hz have been performed. The efficiency of the proposed filter has been verified experimentally under pulse action on the SINS; the test results are discussed. Comparison of the experimental and calculated data shows the adequacy of the proposed models and satisfactory operation of the correcting digital filter.

TL;DR: In this article, a gyroscope consisting of a resonator, made from fibre optic waveguide which has quartz fibre shell with an inner shell made from quartz fibre with germanium oxide additive.
Abstract: FIELD: physics; measurements. ^ SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to devices pertaining to orientation, navigation and control of mobile objects line aeroplanes, ships, intelligent pigging, boring tools, etc. The gyroscope consists of a resonator, made from fibre optic waveguide which has quartz fibre shell with an inner shell made from quartz fibre with germanium oxide additive. In the central part of the inner shell there is an active core, which is a signal-bearing fibre made from quartz glass, activated by rare-earth metal ions. The optical fibre forms a closed loop, wound on an n-angled hard dielectric frame with coefficient of linear thermal expansion close to that of quartz optical fibre. In places where the quartz optical fibre bends, there are opaque micro-mirrors, as well as one semi-transparent micro-mirror with a prism adjacent to it, meant for output of the optical signal. The distance between any two neighbouring micro-mirrors and the total length of the optical fibre are proportional to whole numbers of the wavelength of the signal laser radiation. The pumping system is in form of an optical pumping device, consisting of a laser diode and a microlens, providing for pumping with a bundle of parallel beams, perpendicular to the straight section of the quartz fibre, in the inner shell of which there is V-shaped groove with intersecting edges, which is perpendicular to the centre line of the fibre. ^ EFFECT: increased scaling coefficient. ^ 5 dwg

TL;DR: In this article, a new model of Brillouin fiber optic gyroscope output based on square wave frequency modulation is established to solve the problem that the output signal of the BrillouIN fiber optic Gyroscope is significantly influenced by the Kerr effect.
Abstract: A new model of Brillouin fiber optic gyroscope output based on square wave frequency modulation is established to solve the problem that the output signal of Brillouin fiber optic gyroscope is significantly influenced by Kerr effectThe results show that the Kerr effect induced bias is related not only to the intensity difference between two inverse lights, but also to the amplitudes of square wave frequency modulationThe Kerr effect induced bias can be effectively reduced through properly adjusting the frequency modulation amplitudeThis method does not need additional optical devices and has low requirement for intensity modulation frequencyIt is an effective method for reducing Kerr effect induced bias in Brillouin fiber optic gyroscope

TL;DR: In this article, a positioning information fusion method for a dual marine aided inertial navigation system in a polar region is presented, which is used for solving the problem that positioning accuracy is lost in case of master inertial failure due to the lack of informationfusion.
Abstract: The invention discloses a positioning information fusion method for a dual marine aided inertial navigation system in a polar region. The positioning information fusion method is used for solving theproblem that positioning accuracy is lost in case of master inertial navigation failure due to the fact that the dual marine aided inertial navigation system in the polar region is lack of informationfusion. An error equation of the dual marine aided inertial navigation system is rescheduled in a grid coordinate system in the polar region, a combined error state equation and an observation equation of the dual marine aided inertial navigation system in the polar region are established, gyro drift and accelerometer zero offset of a marine aided inertial navigation system of a monoaxial rotational modulation laser gyro are estimated, certainty positioning error of the marine aided inertial navigation system is subjected to prediction compensating according to a positioning error predictionmodel of the marine aided inertial navigation system of a monoaxial rotational modulation laser gyro in the polar region, thus, positioning accuracy can still be ensured under the condition that a marine aided inertial navigation system of a biaxial rotational modulation laser gyro as a master inertial navigation is in failure, and the navigation positioning capability of a cruising ship in the polar region is further improved under the condition of guaranteeing high reliability.
