TL;DR: In this paper, a ring laser gyro is used to prevent undesirable scattering and double refraction by providing a laser cavity for generating two reversely transmitted beams (beams transmitted in opposite directions to each other) reflected by a plurality of mirrors in optic contact with an integrated gyro block.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent undesirable scattering and double refraction by providing a laser cavity for generating two reversely transmitted beams (beams transmitted in opposite directions to each other) reflected by a plurality of mirrors in optic contact with an integrated gyro block. CONSTITUTION: A ring laser gyro 10 includes a block 11 forming a triangular path formed by inner holes 11a, 11b, 11c. A cathode 12 and anodes 14, 16 are coupled to generate laser discharge in a helium - neon(He-Ne) laser medium. An inner hole requiring high precision is only one leg 18 for gain. Arrangement of a triangle with a short peripheral length supplies large frequency for dividing close linear polarized laser discharge modes S, P. Positioning of the triangle of the gyro 10 is regulated by a magnetic mirror 20, a path length adjust mirror 22 and an output mirror 24.

01 Jun 2016TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of research the dynamics of longitudinal modes frequencies lock-in on mode locking and its influence on lockin of counter waves in laser gyroscope on YAG:Cr4+.
Abstract: In this paper we present the results of research the dynamics of longitudinal modes frequencies lock-in on mode locking and its influence on lock-in of counter waves in laser gyroscope on YAG:Cr4+. We have developed the dynamic model of generation in mode-locking for the gyroscope on YAG:Cr4+. We have performed the analysis of mode locking regimes, lock-in of counter waves and possibilities of angular value registration for gyroscopes on YAG:Cr4+.

01 Feb 1992TL;DR: In this paper, a fiber ring laser gyroscope with two independent, counter-propagating SBS lasers is presented, which share the same cavity and frequency, as well as almost the same spectral width.
Abstract: Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS), a nonlinear process in which an intense beam of pumping light propagates in a single mode fiber in such a way as to generate gain for a counterpropagating, frequency-downshifted beam, is presently used in the design of a fiber ring laser gyroscope. In this gyro configuration, two independent, counterpropagating SBS lasers are generated that share the same cavity and frequency, as well as almost the same spectral width. The readout of such a gyro is inherently digital.

09 Oct 1991TL;DR: In this paper, the dither spring of a laser gyroscope was used to improve the electrical connections to the electrodes of a piezo-electric transducer having one face bonded to a dither-spring.
Abstract: of EP0450681To improve the electrical connections to the electrodes of a piezo-electric transducer having one face bonded to the dither spring of a laser gyroscope and to avoid the need for the bond-side electrode to wrap around an edge of the transducer the connections are made via an insulated sheet metal element adhesively bonded to the electrode and having a connection portion projecting out from the periphery of the transducer. The insulated metal element could comprise plastics material sheet having an electrically conductive metal layer deposited on one of its faces.
