TL;DR: In this paper, the gyroscope had a closed optical path defined by four reflecting surfaces, and counter-rotating beams of radiation circulating around the closed path were produced by a gaseous active lasing medium executed over a gain region to produce a discharge in the gas.
Abstract: The gyroscope had a closed optical path (10) defined by four reflecting surfaces (11, 12, 13, 14). Counter-rotating beams of radiation circulating around the closed path are produced by a gaseous active lasing medium executed over a gain region (15) to produce a discharge in the gas. A reciprocal dispersion element (18) is located in the optical path and a solenoid (23) is wound around part of the gain region to produce a magnetic field over that region. One of the reflecting surfaces (14) is a partially transmitting mirror which passes a small proportion of the radiation incident upon it, and detectors (19, 20) detect radiation in each counter-rotating beams passing through the mirror (14). The alternating current components of the outputs of the detectors are used to control a control circuit (22) so as to control the magnetic field produced by the solenoid (23).

TL;DR: In this article, a scale factor test system for laser gyroscope scale factor testing is presented. But the scale factor tests are carried out on a single scale factor upper computer, which is connected to a RS422 serial interface.
Abstract: The invention discloses a laser gyroscope scale factor test system. The laser gyroscope scale factor test system comprises a turntable; the turntable is connected with a turntable control cabinet; a scale factor test tooling is arranged on the turntable; the scale factor test tooling comprises a laser gyroscope, a scale factor test plate and a power supply module; both the laser gyroscope and thescale factor test plate are respectively connected with the power supply module electrically; the power supply module is also connected to a direct-current voltage stabilization source through a turntable conductive ring; the output signal of the laser gyroscope is connected with the scale factor test plate; the turntable control cabinet is connected with the scale factor test plate through the turntable conductive ring; and the scale factor test plate is connected to a scale factor upper computer through an RS422 serial interface. The invention further discloses a laser gyroscope scale factortest method. Due to integrated installation of the test tooling and filtering of integral period signals of the turntable, the main error in the scale factor test process is effectively eliminated; and thus, the scale factor test precision is greatly increased.

03 Sep 2015TL;DR: In this paper, a ring laser gyroscope with an electrically isolated dither motor was presented. But the authors did not specify the parameters of the dither motors and the electrical isolator that electrically isolates them from the sensor chassis.
Abstract: Systems and methods for a ring laser gyroscope with electrically isolated dither motor are provided. In one embodiment, a ring laser gyroscope, the gyroscope comprises: a laser block comprising a discharge gas filled chamber ring, a cathode, an anode and at least one other electrode; a dither motor mechanically coupled to the laser block and to a sensor chassis, wherein the laser block is secured to the sensor chassis by the dither motor; and an electrical isolator positioned between the dither motor and the laser block, wherein the electrical isolator electrically isolates the dither motor from the sensor chassis.

11 Jan 2007TL;DR: In this article, the phase and amplitude anisotropy of the interference mirrors forming the optical resonance of a laser gyroscope was measured and the effect of phase anisotropic interference on frequency biasing was investigated.
Abstract: Questions of measuring of phase and amplitude anisotropy of the interference mirrors forming the optical
resonator of a laser gyroscope are considered. Expedients of diminution of the error related to frequency biasing of a
laser gyroscope, by assembly of the resonator in view of phase anisotropy are offered.
