TL;DR: In this paper, a robust ring laser gyroscope using Brillouin lasing in chip-scale SiO 2 /Si$(n)N 4 ) waveguide resonators is presented.
Abstract: Honeywell is using Brillouin lasing in chip-scale SiO 2 /Si$_{3}N_{4}$ waveguide resonators to create a robust ring laser gyroscope. Limitations on gyro performance are cascading of Brillouin lasing to higher SBS orders and scattering loss of the Brillouin light in the resonator. We describe advances addressing each of these issues.

TL;DR: A low-cost silicon vibratory gyroscope that tolerates a relatively large mismatch between the driving-mode and sensing-mode frequencies is described in this article. But it does not have the capability to operate at sub-degree-per-second angular rate sensitivity.
Abstract: This paper describes a low-cost silicon vibratory gyroscope that tolerates a relatively large mismatch between the driving-mode and sensing-mode frequencies. The gyroscope is based on beam-mass structure and realized by one silicon proof mass and two beams for the driving and sensing mode. Piezoelectric actuation is used to produce a large driving mode vibration displacement (about 100 mum) with about 32 Vpeak-to-peak. Two tiny sensing beams are separated from the vertical silicon beam to increase the sensitivity while keeping the sensing-mode resonant frequency high. Piezoresistive and piezoelectrical sensing mechanisms are applied to two different gyroscopes. The gyroscope operating at 1-4 kHz is capable of sub-degree-per-second angular rate sensitivity without any vacuum package.

TL;DR: In this article, the optoelectronic system that measures vibration parameters of dither system in a ring laser gyro and serves for compensation of gyro output signal component caused by these oscillations is studied.
Abstract: We study the optoelectronic system that measures vibration parameters of dither system in a ring laser gyro and serves for compensation of gyro output signal component caused by these oscillations. In the context of system study there is determined the influence of various mechanical factors, that lead to changes in its optical scheme parameters, on output signals and measurement error value.

TL;DR: Hardware of the performance testing and evaluating system was designed, and the software was exploited based on the LabWindows/CVI, and shows that the system has such advantages as the rational design, advanced technique, and exact testing etc.
Abstract: Performance index of ring laser gyroscope(RLG) is the precondition and base for the RLG modeling and compensating design of the RLG inertial navigation system(LINS).Hardware of the performance testing and evaluating system was designed, and the software was exploited based on the LabWindows/CVI.Validate experiment of full performance testing and evaluating was done with the existing RLG in our laboratory. Results show that the system has such advantages as the rational design, advanced technique, and exact testing etc.Furthermore,it can quite satisfied for all kinds of RLG′ performance testing and evaluating.
